We’re always on the lookout for cheap sushi options, and in that respect, Miao Sushi hits the spot. This tiny shop has a couple of tables and some bar seating, but it’s a better take-out lunch option—it gets swamped a little too quickly. Miao’s menu has the bits you’d expect, all at about the quality that their price suggests (hand rolls and maki ranging from RMB6-10, sashimi platters from RMB15-30), and a couple you might not, like their bigger Pimp My Roll (RMB20) and Samsung (RMB26) and Motorola rolls (RMB28) copied off Haiku’s menu. These don’t really come close to the originals—they’re not as big and the fish is of vastly inferior quality—but they’re forgiven for being just a quarter of the price.

Went to check out this place a day after reading the review. For the price and portion, it's definitely value for money. While can't be compare to Haiku but for a quick fix while on a budget it's worthwhile to try out Sushi Miao. I had the Motorola roll & it was full of flavour and fillings. The rice was decent and not the plasticky type you get from some cheap sushi restaurants or supermarkets. Thanks Geofferson & looking forward to more of your New Eats (and Cheap) reviews :)
