Moroccan Mecca
Newly renovated and menu revamped, this romantic slice of Morocco retains its African atmosphere, infusing spicy flavors for the adventurous food lover. The succinct menu, makes dining selections quick and easy. For starters, we chose briouates (¥45), triangular deep-fried chicken and vegetable-filled morsels reminiscent of Indian samosas, which were crispy and astonishingly tasty. Skipping an enticing array of kebabs, we ordered a lamb tagine (¥128), named for its authentic clay cooking vessel, and vegetable couscous (¥68). The tender lamb, covered with a sweet sauce of prunes, dates and raisins with a hint of cinnamon, was outstanding and perfectly complimented by the seasonal vegetables atop couscous. Delightfully unique, the cuisine and ambiance continues to present a fun eating experience.
