Personalized Pampering
Tucked in Ferguson Lane's fifth floor, Shui Urban Spa is an oasis of simple style and chic décor. What sets this spa apart from others in town is its use of clean lines and minimal color to depict tranquility and calm. We dropped by to try out their regular mix and match facial and massage treatment. After changing into our slippers and completing a questionnaire to determine our personalized treatments for the evening, we then shuffled our way through the cozy corridors, where lightboxes filled with images of nature greeted us along the way, into the locker room and relaxation lounge. After changing, we were led to the treatment room to begin our customized treatment of the Upper Body Stress Relief Massage and the Essential Facial. We hummed along to the soft jazz playing in the room while the masseuse used Swedish and Thai–style strokes to melt away our mid-week tension. Following this 60-minute massage, our esthetician entered for the cleansing, exfoliating and soothing facial. Again, using only top-of-the-line Dermalogica products selected especially for our skin type, we emerged 70-minutes after with glowing, supple skin. It’s all in the details for this contemporary hideaway. From the white rubber duckies to the heated floors to the warm tea that awaits post-treatment, Shui provides a “complete sanctuary for discerning and design-conscious spa goers,” indeed.
