Count them! Three whole awesome parties will fight for what's left of your paycheck Thursday evening - the Antidote Crew hold their monthly night at C's, with J Alexander, Fish, Kid Plastik and Ozone dropping random stuff they found down the back of the sofa. Meanwhile, Heart Attack, our new favorite indie-punk night at our new favorite bar Not Me, will see more randomness being plugged by DJ Sacco and his pals. And if that's not enough for you, LOgO will host Paranoia #2, a hardcore-acidcore-booty party that promises, organizers say, "to make your brain explode". Blimey.

Friday, we will kick the night off at one of our favorite little Taikang Lu bars, Lane 274, which is offering free-flow Champagne from 6-8pm for less than RMB100. Thankfully, this is a bar that knows the difference between Champagne and fizzy white wine. This week they will be pouring Moet & Chandon's Green Point Brut and rose.

Factory's new night Unwind Selecta tempts us with promises of cheap drinks, severe industrial architecture and the chance to bully our way on to the decks for a few minutes. Later, we'll certainly stop by The Shelter to see UK reggae supremo Pete Holdsworth at the Shanghai By Bus night, to see how it's really done.

If the weather holds, there's a couple of pool parties on Saturday: this one, and this one if you're partial to Pudong. Then it's Jeff Lang at Yuyintang, if we can squeeze in. This is going to be the most over-subscribed event of the weekend. If they turn you away, try the opening of the city's newest LGBT bar The Box. It's a "sexy navy party" and they're turning no one away. Captain Pugwash would be proud.
