Tonight sees the opening of Zone+, a new bar on Tongren Lu taking up the space formerly known as Mint. Various drink deals are on offer for the opening, including free shots for the earlybirds, RMB15 beers and free Champagne for those who stick around until 4am. There's more free stuff at Pause:Play at The Shelter, with CD giveaways for the earliest to arrive. Local underground talent DJ Fortune will be spinning hip-hop and soul, while UK graffiti artist As-One draws live at the party. Then there's reggae at LOgO and Zeppelin covers at Yuyintang.

Tomorrow is in the hands of the gods, with pool parties scheduled at the JW Marriott Tomorrow Square and the Purple Mountain Hotel. Both were canceled last week, so phone for confirmation in case that Typhoon blows in. Later, 2007 World DMC mixing champion DJ Rafik will play M2, while down the road new spot Petals Club throws its opening party. But the party of the weekend has to be Sweatshop Champion Sounds at The Shelter, with UK DnB stars Total Science.

Then cool down with some folk from Bai Shui at Yuyintang on Sunday night.
