Stefan Mueller: Chemical Engineer My job requires quite a bit of traveling, so whenever I return to Shanghai, there's nothing better than unwinding with a great beer and a view of the Bund. One place that's rather unique and quite down to earth is Captain's Bar on top of Captain's Hostel. The view is amazing and you can enjoy a decently priced beer while having a chat with people from all over the world. One of my favorite dive bars is Goodfellas on Julu Lu, where the atmosphere is cozy and unpretentious, far away from Shanghai's glitz and glamour. For a great garden outdoor seating area and of course good food and drinks, I go to Cotton's. This bar is an oasis in our busy city and is simply the best place to enjoy a warm summer night. Their Sunday brunch is also a great deal and you can easily spend a whole day there, ending up with a Golden Frozen Margarita in your hand, having a chat with the friendly owner Miss Cotton herself.
