WHERE YOU EAT... If you're a reel savvy photographer

Juliette McCawley - Director/ Photographer
Originally from Trinidad, I came to Shanghai to follow my passion--filmmaking. I really like Shanghai for its great mix of people and food. For good spicy, garlic-y comfort food, I go to the Manchurian restaurant called Dong Bei Ren (Dongbei), its a great spot for feasting with a lot of friends. An excellent extremely filling meal can be had there and the bill is always ridiculously low. You can only take a date there if you are both into garlic though. I also quite often find myself at Wagas (Deli & Sandwich) for their wholesome Western food, their changing menu of specials always keeps the options interesting. South Beauty (Sichuan) is also a huge favorite for excellent gourmet spicy food that can also be affordable. I really like their attention to food presentation as well.
