WHERE YOU EAT...if you're a late worker
Reto Kistler (Laris Restaurant Director)
After a busy night, sometimes I realize I completely forgot to eat dinner. That's okay though because there are supper places galore in Shanghai. Usually, I go to Chinese restaurants because I already work in a Western one. Most nights I go for supper with our staff because it's more fun to have a Chinese feast with a big group. Also, they know all the great local spots and what to order. Some great food streets are Yunnuan Lu, Wujiang Lu or Shouning Lu with their mini lobsters (xiaolongxia). Xin Wang (Cantonese / Dim Sum) is another good spot and its location next to Babyface provides more than enough entertainment. If I'm in the mood for Western food, Velvet Lounge (Bars) is my venue of choice. It's hard not to love the awesome pizzas and great atmosphere. Shanghai has so many fabulous late night dining spots, I couldn't ask for more.
