WHERE YOU EAT...If you're a whine and diner
Robbie Austria: International Man of Mystery
I recently attended an opening in Yuyuan Garden for a place called Citta Espresso Club (Cafes). They had a nice ambiance and great coffee but the surprise came in their food. I unexpectedly fell in love with their unique duck wraps-reasonably priced and surprisingly good. When I want a really hearty meal, I go for the Japanese eat-all-you-can buffet at Tairyo Teppanyaki (Japanese). For about ¥170 I can gobble down as much tempura and teppanyaki as I want. The best part is it's also a drink-all-you-can place, so I usually stumble out smelling more like sake than sushi. When there are guests to impress, everyone takes them to the Bund. I have a new favorite place there-the Chinese restaurant on the third floor of No. 6 on the Bund, called TianDi Shanghai (Contemporary Chinese). Apart from the great Bund view and glorious cuisine, there's a Chinese jazz band that plays avant-garde music that really sets the Shanghai mood.
