Dongguan is one of the economic engines of Guangdong province, and with thousands of foreign cash funded factories and companies stationed there, this industrial city attracts millions of business / sex travelers. It wasn't long before it became the sex capital of China.

The Chinese government and local police carry out “sweeping the yellow” campaigns annually in order to clean up the city’s booming sex industry, however a recent hidden camera investigation by Guangdong TV has revealed the “yellow sweeping” might not be as effective as the government claims.

In this 8-minute video, an undercover reporter from the provincial TV station goes to a popular, large scale foot massage and sauna house in Hengli, Dongguan. The hidden camera captures the whole course and unfolded the well-known secrets in most of the sauna houses in Dongguan to the public.

In the video, the reporter was showed the “menu” of the sauna by the manager and had conversations with both “elite service foot massage” technicians and “full service sauna” technicians about what services they provide and the security of the sauna. After finding an excuse to leave the sauna, the reporter dialed 110 and asked the police to come down and investigate the open prostitution.

To the reporter’s surprise, the sauna’s security immediately began to scope out the front entrance, and helped arrange for most of their clients to leave the sauna a mere 10 minutes after he dialed 110. The local police station is only 2 kilometers away, but he reportedly waited 40 minutes and no police showed up.
