We were promised "new refs" for this season. PROMISED. Seems your promises are worth absolutely dick, Tom.

I am going to talk only about the Basketball part as it is the one in which I am involved and this is a personal point of view, so take as you want. Concerning our experience in this league, I have to raise the fact that this is actually not with pleasure that we compete in this league. What we've noticed is that every time we played against a Chinese team, the referees are actually on their side. First they don't play a nice basketball (which I can not blame them for) but the worst is the fact that the referees actually take decision at their advantage: - many of their faults are not counted when ours are always (normal) but even some not existing ones are! - The table doesn't count the time-outs properly (last time we counted 4 in one half-time when 2 are authorised) so when the score is tight and that we just scored they asked for a time-out, so then they can start the game from the middle of the court. - when we try to complain about the difference of treatment we get some technical faults. However when the other Chinese teams complain about a decision of the referees, they never get punished and they even sometimes manage to change the decision! On the other hand concerning the organisation, we receive several emails for schedule changes, but when we request a change because of a problem of our players' availabilities, we receive an answer that most of the time is few days before the match and are requested to pay a "fine". In the end, I don't feel that this association is run for the love of sport (and beautiful sport) but rather for the financial profit opportunity, as there isn't any other ones. If you think you are good enough for going over that difference of treatment, go for it! But don't expect nice games If you want to play for the pleasure of playing in a good spirit, at this price I rather advice you to rent a court and find buddies to play with.

I'm going to agree with you from our experience of the Super 7 - on the "Chinese Team" front the referee will always give the advantage to the Chinese team, regardless of the actually facts. Last team we were being roundly and deservedly beaten when two Chinese players started attacking our physically smallest player and goalkeeper and the ref was entirely indifferent. We piled in to defend our men, and I stood in front of a bunch of my guys and their guys (all much larger than lil' ol' me) and implied that anyone who wanted a fight with my team first had to plough their way through me... And the ref was all "Captain, get your men under control". F you, pal. Talking to Tom and Deo has no effect, either, in fact, we were told the next time we question the decision of a referee would mean that the player (even on the sidelines) would be given an instant yellow card, and the opposing team awarded a penalty. Nice work. Remind me - what do we pay our money for? It doesn't seem to be for the refs... Anyway, next time, I'ma knock the guy out when a local Chinese player slides in on my guy in the box and the ref "doesn't see" it. You've been warned, Tom and Deo.

I'm usually not one to complain about refereeing (or bad service) but carter77 has a point. It can get pretty uncomfortable out there. A couple of those refs don't even pretend that they are trying to call a fair game. "How was that a foul?" "I don't like you". Game. Set. Match.

Ask for Deo or Tom - these two guys know their stuff, and they deliver quickly. However, the same cannot be said of every member of staff: some have poor English, some are needlessly evasive. But, the final product is mostly good: 6000 RMB for a football team of up to 17 people playing 9 games of seven-a-side football come rain or shine every weekend for two months. Just wish they could spell names right, deliver kits on time or sort out the pro-Chinese bias of the referees.

Poorly run league. Slow, unresponsive and not overly competent staff--perhaps they are volunteers, I don't know. Unfortunately they are the only game in town, so you don't have many alternatives.
