This venue blends Southeast Asian cuisine with an emphasis on Malaysian flavors. The restaurant fills up quickly during the lunch and dinner rush. Dishes are fairly authentic and service, while spotty, seems sincere. Informal dining is the rule here--we recommend it for a quick bite.
Most authentic Malaysian cuisine in Shanghai !!! Wide choice of Malaysian and Singaporean food. Laksa, Bah Kut Teh, Fried Kuay Teow, Indian Curry, Chili Crab,......and delicious drinks like the famous Malaysian coffee "Kopi-O"and Teh Tarik. Outside catering is available.

**Middle of the Road** This restaurant makes a sincere but inconsistent attempt at Malaysian cuisine. After seating ourselves and requesting a menu, we started with a fried carrot cake (RMB28). Bits of carrot, turnip and scallion were mixed into an egg batter and fried. The saltiness did not overpower the delicate flavor of the radish and carrot and the egg provided depth to an otherwise light dish. The Hokkien Mee (RMB28) however was disappointing--prawns and noodles in a soy-based sauce were bland and nondescript. The Malaysian chicken curry (RMB48) was similar to a Thai curry and while the broth was fragrant and well balanced, the chicken had spent too much time simmering and the potatoes, not enough. The roti (RMB18) was noteworthy, but typical. There are still some kinds to work out so for now, we'd suggest it's better for a quick lunch than a full meal. **Bryan Harsar**
