I agree with a lot of the comments of prior reviewers, Sherpas is on a fast slope down and soon out. Deliveries are unpredictable (except predictably late), food is not hot when arrives, but worst are the new minimums (100 RMB after 6 PM, 200 RMB if it RAINS - are you kidding?!). They also lost the key Subway account and other low end options. Obviously they don't recognize that one of their target markets is people who want to have a quiet meal home alone, another is people who are not in the "Lamborghini" set and looking to come in at less than 200 for 2 on a rainy night. The owner, who obviously understands nothing of this and is extorting his workforce, probably drives one. So - "Goodbye and good riddance, Sherpas!"

What's the heck wrong with you people?! Why the hate? Go online, order from the polite, well trained girl on the phone, and get your food within an hour. I've ordered over a hundred times and that's how it goes. No drama necessary, thank you, but no. (1:00 -105? Ooooohh!!!, 100 yuan minimum charge? Get a girlfriend you loser.) Next time, while the food is being prepared, try doing something with staring at your stopwatch. Read a book. Clean the flat. Get a family-sized pack of Q-tips and scoop the sh*t out from between your ears for an hour, and you'll probably be only halfway done by the time your meal arrives. Sheesh. The "wah wah" whining here is unbelievable.

Horrible service! check your order times and their, they 100% always make up their own timing. When you make an order online, go to your account and you will see that they added 5mins. so order made 1pm, it'll show 1.05pm, not only that, they'll be very late anyways. Would not recommend sherpa, unless you order 2~3 hours in advance where food will come cold and sticky!

Ordered some Vietnamese from Anisseed for my office staff today. We ordered at 10:30 in order to make sure we got our food on time, it got here to my office (which is less than 1.5 kilometers away from Anisseed at 12:30. When it got here the food was cold and the soups for the pho has spilled so that it most of the food was inedible. I immediately contacted Sherpa's customer service to complain. They said that the best they could do was offer me a 50 rmb gift certificate for over 170 rmb of basically inedible food. When I said that this was unacceptable, they then proceeded to "timeout" my online chat with customer service three different times before saying they could give me a 80 rmb refund. I asked to speak to a manager, and they said that a manager might be available and that I should be ok with 80 rmb because I had touched some of the food. Honestly, sherpa's at one time was a good company that was supposed to use Western Style customer service. Now all they have done is devolve into a Chinese company that treats its customers like scum and trusts that there will always be more patsies in the revolving door that is expat Shanghai. Stop using them, there are better services out there, hell there are better Chinese services out there.

Agreed with the previous post. Got home from the gym on Wednesday and went to order my go-to half chicken meal at Brasa's. With delivery fee, the price comes to RMB 100. When I pressed order the site told me that I needed to order RMB 100 in food (not including delivery fees). I was forced to add a soup, which I didn't eat, to get the food delivered at 8:30. This is wasteful and doesn't respect the numerous customers in Shanghai. I would encourage Sherpas to rethink the new required 100 RMB food purchase after 6:00. Competition is increasingly fierce in the food delivery service they should be careful to appease customers or risk them switching to another delivery platform.

This service is going down the hole.. Lack of deliverymen, always have to wait 60 minutes plus, the deliverymen always seem as if they expect a tip on top of that. Prices differ from that of the restaurants dine in menu. Oh well, at least there's McDonalds delivery.. Can always rely on that

Sherpas has become the worst delivery service that i have ever had the disgrace to encounter! dear good are they bad! first of all , they NEVER have enough curriers and THEY ALWAYS have delays, which makes me SO angry! and now a 100rmb minimum??!! are you seriously kidding me? and on TOP of that somedays you cannot order from places that are far away and cost more than 20rmb! ALL I can say is THANK GOD FOR MEALBAY!! sherpas better get their stuff together and SOON!! you suck!! BIG TIME

CW writers got problems.....Sherpas rating got quality 1.5 star. value 1 star. service of 1.5 star. Sherpas got a lot of low stars....but its got 'overall' 4 stars. Its # 10 Out of 3169 Restaurants.....freaking hell something is wrong at CW, dear.

They offer similar services to Sherpa back home. I am also not impressed with Sherpa compared to back home, not when paying 15 yuan. The food is not well protected. Sometimes it looks like it has spoiled. It's very often late and I only have one hour for lunch.

I won't use Sherpa's any more. That's TWICE they didn't give me one of my dishes. Also, they take very long (at least they say it will take long on the webiste). Sherpa's is a rip-off. They charge 15RMB to the buyer as delivery fee... but I heard they also charge the restaurants a big percentage for each delivery. That's crazy. They don't make the food, and they are getting 15RMB for each deliver already! I'll stick with Mealbay, thank you. Or order directly from the restaurants.

Sherpas is great for when you can't go out. Even if you take a round trip taxi, the cost will be more than 15 RMB. They normally deliver quite quickly. And they have saved me from being hungry many times.

15rmb delivery charge for customer Sherpas got restaurats to pay them over 20% (someone said 30%) off the food price..... a big cost for this kind of service! When I order it said will be 15 or 20 minutes delay because being too busy. It took more than 45 minutes like they said. Slow. For 15rmb and 20-30% Sherpas is not about the service is for making money money money. Its become like the song.....'I want my mtv'

Been in Shanghai about 2 years now and had always used Sherpa's, but recently stopped due to the delivery fee. I order in fairly often and it realllly starts to add up if you think about it. Started using Delivery Hero, and their restaurants deliver on their own so no delivery fees, comparable service, good selection, BETTER PRICE. Just my "2 cents". deliveryherochina.com

Sherpa's a pioneer in delivering Shanghai's popular restaurants , I am not gonna tell them how to do their thing. And before sharing my thoughts, I would like to underline their remarkable customer service. Being a frequent client , I've pointed out orders experience more and more delays. Most common reasons mentioned online ? 1) Lack of delivery staff 2) Rain . However, it turned that actually most orders never arrive within the 45 minutes promise. Not mines, anyway. Most of the time, it takes more than an hour. Sherpa's management shall deal with that problem : I don't know if other customers like to wait their meal such long time, meal that undoubtedly arrives a bit decrepit and cold , but myself, I don't want to . And until they solve the issue, I'll be ordering from Element Fresh .

I am hard-pressed to find a more efficient, friendly and helpful food delivery service in Shanghai. The couriers are friendly and when late, apologize profusely (and we understand there's traffic! It's not your fault!). The phone operators and online chat agents are super helpful. The food comes hot and fast. Thank you, Sherpa's. Thank you.

After being bombarded via mail by Sherpa's finally yesterday I got an apology letter. During past weeks I received by post several menus of OHANA accompanied with Sherpa's letters. Sherpa's doesn't gives a heck about the Environment. They sent me so much garbage, all in thick paper just to annoy me and then apologize with another "non-green" letter. The apology letter ends saying: " The best way to find out restaurants is logging into our website" . Of course, WE ALL KNOW THAT! Then why do you keep killing trees and sending so much GARBAGE. Anyways most of your customers are young westerners who know how to use the internet and seldom check their apartments mailboxes!! Also I'm sick of so much garbage / spam coming from El WIlly Group , it's either the spam on my e-mailbox or the menus delivered directly by Sherpa's ECOCIDES. Funny that last week EL Willy's Mkting manager was apologizing for a mistake in their database, and now Sherpa's is doing the same.

I am extremely happy with your service. I understand at times specially rainy days your service gets delayed reason being no one wants to go out, stay at home and order food from their favourite restaurants so sherpa is over loaded with delivery. I know sherpa is leading food home delivery company. Reason for penning my thoughts today is other day I was at my freinds place and I could not order from Sherpa because its too far or may be of the way for you, but a thing that stuck my attention was that my freind had three other restaurant home delivery booklet and they all had same restaurant listed. I being sherpa well wisher, i want to bring it to your notice that you must allow your restaurants to get listed with other delivery companies other wise your restaurant list will get shorter and they will grow on you. I know you are the pioneer in home delivery

In summary: Sherpas offered a deal which more than made up for the situation - which I happily accepted. The offer was proactively offered by the phone staff, so no stress there. Cheers!

The new website is a major improvement for Sherpa's. Tried it and loved it. I think the new strategy for user to first enter the location (annoying at first) is great, it allows user to order food cost effectively (by showing a list of closest restaurants & cheapest delivery fee). Good job guys!

Useless. I haven't ordered from Sherpa's in about a year, and now I remember why I stopped. They don't work with a few of my favourite restaurants, Munchies in particular being a personal "go-to" for a quick lunch fix. Attempted to have an MSN conversation to make an order, it took ten minutes to be told that as they had no record of my number, they wouldn't be able to take the order from MSN. So I called, and got told that they did not work with the restaurant I wanted to order from. Any alternative suggestions? No? Oh, thanks. Helpful. Website currently ... bizarre to be honest. Some restaurants not listed and a lot of menus listed with "0 RMB" as the price for certain items. Can you honour that, guys? It's going to take a year before I even consider coming back again. Well done.

Yeah website isn't working for me either. Just stops loading halfway through and doesn't refresh. Sherpa's have always been fairly good in my experience. Sometimes they are a little slow, but it's wise to get your order in before the rush times regardless of where you go. The only issue I had was when I got a severe case of food poisoning from a restaurant (which I am extremely happy to see has disappeared) and Sherpa's were pretty ... meh... about the whole thing. While it obviously wasn't their fault, I was not bowled over by the helpful response I didn't get from them. So not any big issues, and the menu's are all pretty easy to find. You might have to actually leave your apartment to get one though. A scary prospect, no?

Sorry, thumbs down on the delivery. I ordered from one of the closest restaurants, only a caesar salad and cup of soup, but the delivery fee was RMB45! Definitely overrated.

On a rainy night, they got my food to me in less than half an hour. Therefore, a salute to the army of mopeds that never lets us down. When working late and too lazy to trek to the nearest xiaolongboa station, they deliver food, hot, fast and fresh, straight to our door (or desk).
