To welcome the Year of the Rat, reunion feasts replete with traditional favourites are featured at Le Royal Méridien Shanghai’s Ai Mei Chinese restaurant, Le Bistrot All-day Dining Restaurant from February 5 to 21, 2008.

Ai Mei Chinese restaurant – “Prosperity Menus” On Chinese New Year Eve (February 6), Master Chef Cheung and his culinary team fire up the woks with 4 “Prosperity Menus” featuring different traditional signature dishes of Ai Mei. Prosperity menus include Spring Menu, 10-course for RMB 198 net per person, Fortune Menu, 13-course menu for RMB 288 net per person, Meridien menu for RMB 368 net per person (private room) for 13 courses and Royal menu for RMB 488 net per person (private room).

Spring Menu: Festive highlights include Braised scallops with sea cucumber, Sautéed shrimps with green vegetables, Deep-fried cuttlefish with bread, Braised sliced fish with dried chili “Si Chuan” style, Stewed mushrooms with abalone sauce, Braised pork leg, Deep-fried rice cake with coconut milk Glutinous rice dumplings with wine rice soup.

Royal Menu: Royal menu include signature dishes of Ai Mei like Braised shark’s fin soup with crab roe, Braised sea cucumber with shrimp roes, Sautéed river shrimps, Steamed grouper, Braised sliced abalone, Pan-fried beef tenderloin with black pepper sauce, Deep-fried pigeon, Braised pork leg, Sautéed health vegetables, Preserved sausage with rice served in hot pot Pork and shrimps dumpling, Pan-fried rice cake with coconut milk, Glutinous rice dumplings with wine rice soup and the fruit plate to round off the celebration on a sweet note.

Also during Chinese New Year, Ai Mei Chinese Restaurant will be spotlighted with Chinese Traditional Band of famous Chinese Music by multi-musical instruments. Chinese calligrapher will draw Chinese character “Fu” – Prosperity for the guests. Restaurant Manager Maggie will present Chinese Hong Bao with surprise to every guest to draw a pleasant closure to the celebration.
