Shanghai, China (January 24, 2008) – Emma Entertainment is extremely proud to present the Icelandic singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Björk, for her first ever performance in China as part of The Volta Tour. The concert takes place on March 2nd in the prestigious Shanghai International Gymnastic Center.

Tickets are now available by telephone via Emma's National Hotline, 400-707-9999 and online at www.emma.cn and at all Emma Ticketmaster retail locations. The concert is expected to attract remarkable demand from Björk's many fans in China and tickets are expected to sell out quickly.

After her 5 artistically and commercially successful solo albums - Debut (1993), Post (1995), Homogenic (1997), Vespertine (2001), and Medulla (2004), Bjork maintained a very busy tour schedule in support of this year's excellent release "Volta" (recently nominated for a Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album) and launched her World Tour. The show is a grand, extravagant and, at times, heavy affair with an all-female brass section, lasers and lights, crazy outfits, multiple costume changes, and material ranging from Volta songs to classics like Army of Me and Hyperballad. "I feel Volta live is much better than the album so Volta the album is almost like the rehearsal before the tour. The tour is where it all comes alive." Said Björk , "Volta is ... shaman, voodoo, and big strokes of red and neon colours. It's harsh, almost brutal. It's very physical, almost butch,"

12-time Grammy nominated Björk is one of the world's most eccentric women. The über-talented singer/songwriter from Iceland conquered the charts by making unusual music. Her songs and image are a reflection of her character: exuberant and original. Björk's songs and music videos are often so far from what other artists are doing that one can't help but to give her attention. In her homeland, she is a queen; the most visible icon Iceland has ever been able to claim. Björk always gets a reaction.
