Description

Howard French has distinguished himself not only as the New York Times' Shanghai Bureau Chief, but also as a documenter of life in Shanghai away from the glamorous developments seizing headlines. His black and white photographs show the eroding lane life that hearkens back to the city's beginning.

I'm not sure exactly how many there were but he had quite a bit on display. Check out his book on sale at the gallery too. It features more of his photos. Robert van der Hilst has his exhibit running along Howard French's photos too. Van der Hilst's shows Shanghai in the early 90's. Interesting stuff!
