Description -
One of our core programs at Children’s Technology Workshop is our Senior Engineering Concepts & Applications Workshop. This program is suitable for children aged 6 to 14 and can vary depending on age, experience, and ability. This series of workshops uses LEGO educational products to develop children's understanding of mechanical and structural engineering concepts. The programs cover several areas including gears, pulleys, chains, levers, momentum and pneumatics. Each class aims to enhance students’ concentration, dexterity, social skills and problem solving ability whilst maintaining a dynamic and enjoyable environment. Typically, a one hour class will involve an introduction to an engineering concept followed by the construction of one of our exclusive models from a plan displayed on a computer. After completing the model the student is encouraged to adapt it to meet a challenge set by the instructor. Benefits of this course include development of fine motor skills (eyes and hands coordination), right brain nurturing, social, and problem-solving skills.
This workshop is one hour in length per class from 9-10am, 10:15-11:15am, 11:30am-12:30pm, 1:30-2:30pm, 2:45-3:45pm, 4-5pm, and 5-6pm in both of our Hongqiao and Pudong centers starting any Saturday afternoon from September 6. Each 10 hours workshop costs Rmb 1,750 per child as member's rate, and Rmb 2,250 per child as non-member's rate. The annual membership fee containing complimentary fun Parents and Child Workshops three times per year, and attractive membership benefits costs Rmb 1,000 per family per year. Teacher ratio is 1:7, and please make a seat reservation at 6446 6766 (Hongqiao) or 5033 3053 (Pudong) in advance.
