Description -
Every May 5th is one of the Chinese traditional festivals – The Dragon Boat Festival. It is to memorialize the ancient Chinese patriotic poetQuyuan, who jumped into Miluo River on this day. In order to prevent the fish and shrimp from biting QuYuan, people put the ZongZi they prepared into the river to feed them. The tradition of eating and making ZongZi was passed down, to each generation. This series will discuss the Dragon Boat Festival, and you will also learn how to make ZongZi (sticky rice in a lotus leaves), and give your parents a big surprise!

The Dragon Boat Festival commemorates poet Quyuan, who jumped into the Miluo River. In order to prevent his body from being bitten by fish, zongzi (stick rice wrapped in lotus leaves) are thrown into the river to feed the fish instead. Want to know more about this story?
