Due to visa issues, the organizers of the Nas party have postponed the event
Solid Vodka presents what's sure to be a off the hook hip-hop party with an appearance with none other than the man that taught us the meaning of ill, Nas. SmartShanghai's online ticketing agent SmartTicket (the only ones selling door passes so don't be duped by impostors) is bringing together 800 of Shanghai's rap and R&B fans to Racks for a one-time party, as Nas shakes Xintiandi to the core.
Don't want to fight the online masses for door passes? CW is giving away two door passes each to two CW readers, but you gotta work for it. So answer us this: What would your MC name be and, of course, why?

My MC name would be DJ Tramp because the word tramp is multi-dimensional. First, it refers to a transient vagabond, who travels on foot from place to place. A DJ should be like a tramp, collecting music from different places. Although the word implies a negative judgemet, I think tramping should also be regarded as an open-minded and admirable lifestyle. Secondly, there's something undeniably sexy about DJs so its appropriate that the word tramp also implies sexual promiscuity. Again, it's a pejorative term, but as a young, blonde female dj, perhaps reappropriating the term would serve to remove or least challenge it's disapproving connotations. Finally, to tramp means to walk with a firm and resounding step, a step that leaves a mark, just like a DJs music should.
