Description

The BMW Asian Open, the first ever tri-sanctioned Chinese Golf Association, Asian Tour and European Tour event in China, returns to Tomson Shanghai Pudong Golf Club from April 24 to 27, 2008.

This year's line-up of world-class golfers including three Majors champions Retief Goosen, Michael Campbell and Greg 'The Great White Shark' Norman, European aces Henrik Stenson and Miguel Angel Jimnez, and defending champion Raphal Jacquelin. Chinese heroes Liang Wen Chong and Zhang Lian Wei will be leading the home challenge as they strive for a breakthrough win for Asia.

In addition to world-class golfing action, spectators to the BMW Asian Open can expect an expanded Public Village with an interesting trick golf show featuring the world trick golf champion Geoff Swain, innovative interactive elements like the BMW xRamp and a dazzling display of BMW cars.

As in previous years, BMW China will again not charge any entrance fees for the tournament. Instead BMW and golf enthusiasts can register via a special Call-Center telephone or by email/internet to receive their personal invitation to the BMW Asian Open 2008.

For those who decide spontaneously to watch the BMW Asian Open 2008 access will be granted by registration at the main entrance at Tomson Golf Club.

Possibly the golf event of the year, golf fans shouldn't miss this tournament as Chinese heroes Liang and Zhang face off against all-stars Goosen, Campbell, Norman, Stenson, Jimenes and defending champion Jacquelin. For those who would argue that golf is not a sport, head to the Public Village to amuse yourself with a trick golf show, a BMW xRamp and of course, shiny new BMWs. Interested spectators can pre-register online. Free

Went last year. It was excellent, although a bit soggy on the final day.

Crowds weren't too big and it's free! Much, much easier to get to (and get around) than Sheshan for the HSBC.
