After a short break due to LOgO’s renovation, Acid Pony Club is coming back on a new racetrack on the 10th May; new concept, new club, new pounding grooves. Originally based in Europe (Paris, Barcelona, Berlin, London, Brussels…), they were an active part of the underground scene. These Producers (check the releases! www.myspace.com/acidponyclub), DJs, VJs, Decorators and Designers are focusing on the same goals: bringing entertainment and good eclectic music.
Some of them have now landed in Shanghai… They’ve played at LOgO, Bar Rouge, Dragon, C’s… Others have residencies in all the alternative clubs of Paris, rave parties/free parties through Spain, Germany and Italy and house and after parties in Brussels and London.
The ‘acid funk theory’ will be demonstrated in a different laboratory as MAO (www.maoshanghai.com) will be hosting the party. This is the perfect place to cook the groove in a ‘pony fashion’ as all different crowds seem to converge there on Saturdays. And this is crucial for the recipe to be successful, happy people with a hunger of quality music.
This will indeed be a ‘hip minidiscotek’ party as you have experienced in the past in a totally new environment; expect to be spoiled.
Clement Pony and Clapikk, Dj’s and organisers of the event are planning a night of eclectism with surprise guests and treats for the ears and the eyes. The idea is to satisfy everyone with real hip-hop, funk, electro disco, minimal techno, …and who knows; a tune of Prince mixed with a loop of Jeff Mills.
Expect to come home with dancing feets and cloudy minds, content of a good night out.
Acid Pony Club will be waiting for you, impatient to start galloping all together and all night long to reach the stars.

Originally based in Europe and rocking clubs from London to Berlin, the Acid Pony Club members played an active role in creating the European underground club scene. These producers, VJs and DJs are all about bringing good music to good parties, so they're excited to hit up a new Shanghai venue and bring their Acid Funk Theory with them. Expect to go home with dancing feet and a cloudy mind.
