Description -
For three years now, Givenchy – always devoted to flowers – has been on a treasure hunt for the purest, most splendid floral fragrances produced by nature. Truly innovative in its approach, Givenchy has heightened and enriched the fragrance of three of its perfumes – Amarige, Very Irrésistible Givenchy and Organza – with a sublime version of one of the flowers in each of their original compositions. Each year, it has found an incredibly rare flower somewhere on the planet, reserved a harvest for its exclusive use, guaranteed that it would be handled under optimal conditions for obtaining the quintessence of its fragrance properties, and based the reinterpretation of the original fragrance creation on this precious floral note. All of Givenchy's perfume-making savoir-faire has been used to formulate these masterpieces. Morocco's Atlas Mountains. The Moroccan Rosa Damascena is grown in the Dades Valley, near Ouarzazate. The Dades Valley has a pre-Saharan bioclimate, with relatively low temperatures suitable to rose growing. In this region of Morocco, the winter of 2007 was a particularly cold one. The rose bushes reserved for the Givenchy harvest were saved from the frosts thanks to late pruning. The blossoms were fewer, but more fragrant, with subtle honey accents. Quality triumphed over quantity. The essential oil obtained from these flowers is intense, with a highly textured character that gives way to tea-like accents and a light hint of suede. Very Irrésistible Givenchy's new colours. The essence from the 2007 Rosa Damascena harvest was used to make a superb fragrance variation with abundant hints of verdant rose to round out its middle notes and a velvety suede-like trail. In short, character, intensity, texture and sensuality. The ‘Harvest Collections’ have become a benchmark in the world of fine perfumery.
