Sorry, Frenchman, we appreciate your appreciation of the game, but Beijingbloke takes the tix on this one. Mainly for his fun fact about Dwight Howard ousting Yao Ming as the NBA’s top-scoring center. Beijingbloke’s got game and so he’s going to go to the game. Beijingbloke, contact Kevin Lee at kevinlee@ringierasia.com to pick up the tickets (and get your a** down to Shanghai!)

Carmelo Anthony (F): The highest scoring points per game member of the next Dream team, he'll use his past Olympic experience to silence the critics for good that the FIBA Greek loss was a fluke. Hang out? Considering his previous philanthropic tendencies to the Asian Tsunami victims, Anthony will head to courts down on the corner of Chang'An and Dong'Dan and encourage some up and coming Yao's.

Jason Kidd (G): Cause everything's bigger in Texas! Well... not him physically, but he'll be the 'Captain Glue' this team needs to see the Gold lining in this Olympic cloud. Hang out? The National Cultural museum on Chang'An - gathering inspiration from past emperors in their means and methods of conquering China and the World!

Kobe Bryant (G): Hey! That's why we have 5 fingers on each hand! He might as well chop off his injured pinkie as it's only going to be a distraction! After the chop, he'd still be the best in the world with only 9 fingers! Hang out? The cosmetic surgeon on North East 3rd Ring to pick up a fake new pinkie so he doesn't lose any diamond-wearing potential in the off-season.

LeBron James (F): Because every team needs a Jordan! and this #23 will be the 'bling' that shatters the international competition's spirit through sheer unadulterated talent and ability to shoot from the outside. Hang out? Nothing better for post-game downtime than heading into a little piece of Americano suburbville (Shunyi district) to a bar big enough to accommodate 'King' James' size and need for space, so to King's Bar we go!

Dwight Howard (C): He might be an inch off 7' but he's a big boy and someone you need to take to China given that he's the guy who stole Yao Ming's lead as top-scoring Centre in December!
Hang-out? As a deep south boy, after realizing that 3.3 didn't stock his size (surprise!) he'll head over to Yashow, for a tailor-made Shenyi (深衣), then head to Grandma's Kitchen for Beijing's biggest servings of biscuit's & gravy!

I think it should be as follows:

Chris Paul - PG Kobe Bryant - SG Lebron James - SF Carmelo Anthony - PF Dwight Howard - C

On the nights off, they'll be kickin' it at Bar Rouge or getting a massage. As a rabid USA Fan, I'm hoping they don't go anywhere and just hang out at the hotel room and play video games all day. I really want them to focus on the Gold Medal this year. It's kind of embarrasing that we have, supposedly, the best talent in the world yet we can't put together the best TEAM in the world since really the Dream Team over 17 years ago. Lets bring home the GOLD USA !!!!

Let's make things clear here first, yes I am a Frenchman, yes I do love basketball and no it isn't true that we Frenchmen don't know anything about BB...that being said, here are my thoughts about the Q on team USA: starting 5 ? That's an easy one: - J.Kidd (for his experience but I suspect C.Paul to start some games as well) - L. James (the name speaks for itself) - C. Anthony (best scorer in international competition last year) - K. Bryant (same as for James) - D. Howard (the only true big man on the roster) if he recovers in time from his sternum fracture, if not C.Boozers....

As for where all these guys should hang-out, during the day, on the bund and in their hotel (Portman would be my guess) and probably some electronic/fake markets, and for their nightlife I would say on the high-end club scene in Shanghai, probably somewhere like M2, Bar rouge and the likes...

Now where is my ticket ? (joking) Julien
