Weighing in as Japan's most promising violinist at the age of 20, Ryu Goto has been a sensation since his debut at the age of 7. Constantly surprising musicians and audiences alike, this student of renowned violinist Cho-Liang Lin is ready to debut his talent in Shanghai with the presentation of two scores from Dvorak, "Carnival Overture" and "Symphony No. 9 from the New World," and one score from Paganini, the "Violin Concerto No. 1." RMB100-680

Ryu Goto's Shanghai Debut
We're not sure why but, for whatever reason, the classical music world is fascinated by child prodigies. When young Ryu Goto (half brother of Japanese violinist Midori Goto) was discovered, heavy expectations were put on his shoulders. Born in New York in 1988, Goto was hailed as a "miracle" by noted Israeli violinist and conductor Pinchas Zukerman at the age of eight. A big fan of Jimi Hendrix, Goto follows the lead of famous musicians like Yoko Gilbert, Victor Danchenko and Cho-Liang Lin but adds his own daring, passionate interpretation. For his debut performance in Shanghai, Goto will collaborate with the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra to present three scores from Dvorak and Paganini.
