Description -
This is a trip combining two completely different aspects of Chinese cultural history - traditional ethnic culture and culture from colonial influence. The Hakka villages located in Yongding prefecture of Fujian province features the earth buildings which dates back to 200 to 500 years are amazing and a must see for the world traveler interested in unusual cultures in beautiful countryside. In combination with the Hakka villages, we'll take you to spend some time on Xiamen's Gulangyu Island - an island with sandy beaches all around that has no cars or bicycles and no big hotel developments. This island used to be the only foreign settlement in Fujian province after the opium war, and it is full of fabulous western influenced architecture, museums, piped delicate piano music, quaint guest houses and may we mention again - lovely beaches.
