“Swiss Comics” is an introduction to the past and present of comic books in a country, which, although small, plays a crucial and diverse role in the comic book industry. Since the 1970s, many Swiss authors have gained international recognition in their field. The exhibition first presents the Genevan artist, Rodolphe Toepffer, “inventor”, in the first half of the 19th century, of the comic book, and spans through the 20th century to present the young artists of Geneva and Zurich, the two main hubs of Swiss comic book writing. These innovative artists are the emblematic figures of contemporary Swiss comic book writing.
