The best one must be that of Niu Lang and Zhi Nv, who poor souls bless 'em, can only meet once per year. The musical would portray their yearning to see each other through traditional Chinese music and when they meet, it should be joyous Latino music where everyone feels like clapping and dancing!

My best love story would be that in Pride and Prejudice, between Mr Darcy and Elizabeth. The genre would be a cross between the West side story type music, pop and opera.

In the movie, 'What Dreams May Come', Chris, played by Robin Williams, dies and finds himself in a heaven more amazing than he could have ever dreamed of. There is one thing missing though, his wife and soulmate, Annie. After he dies, his wife, killed herself and went to hell. Chris decides to risk eternity for the small chance that he will be able to bring Annie back to heaven. I know this is fiction. But can you imagine somebody loving you that deep that he will risk his place in heaven to save you from the wrath of hell? (Only JC can do that.)

Sorry, I forgot about the genre question ... I think it will be blast if it's a combination of gospel and rock music. Gospel music with a big choir and all that clapping and dancing and then the different genre of rock: heavy metal, punk, grunge, alternative, rap rock, etc.

My love story is between my husband and me!
We met in England. He is from Shanghai and was new to England and could only speak 50% english. i was in my home town (im british). We met and dated and we saw something, and we couldnt bear to be apart. We used to share a single bed (!) in his works appartment until we worked hard, saved up, moved out and rented our first flat. It was hard trying to pay bills, as i was only 17 at the time. In November 2003 we decided we wanted to get married and 2 weeks after my 18th birthday we did, on his birthday! We got a lot of my family telling me it wouldnt last and it wasnt right me marrying someone from another country. We didnt listen to them and carried on together. In 2004 we were split apart as he spent 'time inside' and everyday i cried to be back together. I didnt feel i could carry on living. 9 months later we were reunited. In Jan 2007, we both came to Shanghai together, met the inlaws and we now currently live with them untill we can get our own place. And he can speak very good english to what he could before. I reckon i have helped him a lot and it has helped with his job as he is the only one today who can speak english and it gets him a little extra money for us.
Set to 'I'l Stand By You' by The Pretenders - as that song got me through the 9 months we were apart.

Not so long ago, in the Paris of the Orient, a young man, 30 years old in business for himself and a part time student in a local university studying Chinese, fell in love with Medea, but this love was not allowed. Or was it?
Back in his country, America, Achilles had a family, a wife and three wonderful kids that only gave him joy and pride for they were doing everything right, at the same time as being very responsible kids. Achilles although far away from home, dearly loved them. He was here in Shanghai to make a better living for his family. Achilles, not such a good name for a hero! One September 9th, after negotiating the deal of the month, Achilles took his client shopping for Shanghai souvenirs, fakes and inexpensive objects. The client of Indian decent was from an island near Africa called Mauritius Island, to the right of Madagascar. His name was Akabar and that day he took Achilles all over town in order to find a statuette of Buddha. Faith it must be took them to Chengdu Rd where most local merchant sell copies of all kind. That is there that Achilles saw Medea for the First time. Medea crossed Achilles eyes and the pair was together. Love at first sight. That day Medea was wearing her Army suit, not that she was military, but that was the way she like to dress to sell her fakes; comfortable clothing letting her free of moving around to help her customers and grab the merchandise they were looking for. But her clothing was the least important. Her presence and light were important as they led Achilles’heart on fire. Her face was one of an angel with her chestnut eyes looking straight at him. His eyes were a magna of changing colors neither blue nor green but a mix of yellow turquoise and light teal, and when mixed with Medea’s eyes they broiled with passion. Medea was the hardiest, and when Achilles approached her booth, she extended her hand to invite him and Akabar in her kingdom. As Achilles took her hand, he could not help to notice an unseen elegance; such long fingers, oval fingernails well maintained and such a soft skin. As the two walked into the shop they just could not let go of each others. Medea was a very charming, graceful young lady with long, shinny jay black hair coming straight down the middle of her back. Akabar that day bought a pair of clothing for his family back home, and during all the time they were into the shop, Achilles and Medea’s eyes could not part. Before he left, Achilles politely gave his card to her promising he will bring other clients to her business.
For the next two weeks, Achilles was in love and could only see Medea’s eyes talking to him. Is appetite was diminishing everyday. Rice, bread and water were enough to feed his frame. That was the result of intense love and excessive happiness. He was that way, when happy he needed very little to subsist, when melancholic or board he could eat his Fridge. Achilles long before was in warfare and he kept from that time a subtle athletic shape, perhaps not enough to be noticed but potent in case of urgency. In his past, Achilles singled himself out from his brother in arm for his valiance and courageous initiatives on the field. To this day he kept all the medals and decorations he had earned. By the way: coincidence? Medea is issued from a military family, her father was a commending officer of the Chinese Red Army; for that reason, having a father kin on physical form and self discipline, she was pushed as a pup to always better herself. She was also somewhat athletic, an excellent runner and a swift swimmer.
Few weeks had past now, three or four, and on October first, Achilles decided to return to the forum to see Medea Again. As he arrived to her shop, she instantly spotted him. She was sitting on a short stool almost at floor level and as Achilles came upon her, he kneeled down to meet her face. In a very quiet but secure voice he explained to her that he had came to invite her for dinner so that they would get a chance to know each other. At that moment, a little girl, 10 years old enter into the shop. Medea instantly introduced her: “This is my daughter Linlin”. Achilles smirked, maybe comforted to see they had something else in common and he reposted: “then I would gladly invite you and your daughter to dinner.” As he just finished to speak the last syllable “err…” a forth person entered the small room filled with clothing. Medea again introduced the new comer:” and this is my husband” then quickly she introduced Achilles to her husband telling him he was a foreign student working in China as a consultant of some sort. The husband was more modest compared to his beautiful wife. He was shorter than her, 1.70 meter, round face, round corpulence, with thinning hair, but still well dressed and with a certain presence. Of course this time Achilles could not possibly invite the whole family, and respectful of the situation he politely excused himself and left.
The husband and the daughter lived in a small village of the Jiangsu province, and they had came to Shanghai as they do every May 1st, October 1st and New Year to visit their wife and mom. Now they had left shanghai to their home town and Medea pulled the name card from the pouch she was always carrying around her neck, to call Achilles. It had been a week since he last saw her, and receiving her call was a tremendous surprise, although he was glad. So glad! They met that day at the terrace of the Jin An amphitheatre, Medea came with her brother in law that she called “Didi” little brother, married to her younger sister. In front of three glass of cold beer they talked for a couple of hours to get acquainted to each others. The talking really was without much significance, the exchange between Achilles and Medea was not one of words, but one of warmness. Their looks to each other, their hands moving into thin air hoping to meet by some king of fortunate accident; a invisible field of serenity all around their two bodies protecting them from the world out, even trees surrounding them seemed brighter, of a more vivid green; all was expressing attraction.
Until December, they met over and over, every time they had a chance. Going to dinner to local restaurants, nothing classy or trendy, simple little “hole in the wall” type of places, and it did not matter, all that did matter was that they were together. Late at night before going home they would race in the almost desert street of Shanghai. After racing she would catch up, jump on him placing her two legs around his hips and two arms around his neck then open a wide and wild mouth with two rows of white teethes as apparatus then plunge her teeth into his man chest to leave a medallion into his skin… and of course a bruise. Of course he did not really care for this sign of affection although he did not mind the pain, and when he asked her why she answered she could not resist his unusual large mass of muscles at this specific spot. Achilles still had the built of his youth and most women could not help to look. Once on weekend she was able to have Didi take care of the shop and they spend the afternoon in the park rolling the boat, swimming, racing again. One Saturday afternoon, Achilles carefully prepared a small surprise bag in which he placed a box of chocolate shaped as hearts and a single red rose in sign of unconditional love. Then he took a quick shower, dried himself up, coming in front of the mirror he took a tube of self tanning lotion and applied some on his face, his neck and his two feet. After the lotion was absorbed, he put on a royal blue Kurta Pajama, an assorted turban on his head, a pair of dark shades on his nose a dark goaty on his chin and a pair of dark leather sandals, grab the bag and Mr. Punjabi took of to Meda’s forum. Once there he walked around unrecognized and waited for Medea to leave her shop to inconspicuously drop the surprise bag bellow the stool she often sat on. As he left the shop he saw her coming back. As she came closer, he turned around, looked straight at her with a smile on his face, then left. An hour later, he received her call: “I want to see you tonight, come to meet me for dinner.” He never had a choice, what woman wants God want! so he always agreed to what ever she said. He was always excited to meet her, a teenager on his first love. What ever he was doing never mattered more than she did; He always managed to show up as she pleased. Nothing or no one could keep him away from her. The two were free and in love. And this should have lasted for eternity…
At this point the relationship was still platonic, nothing more than deep regards, holding hands and little kisses. But soon, although all that was great, Medea expected more. She was everyday asking for more. More passion, more love, more intimacy. On December 21st, the day before Achilles went back to America for Christmas, after they had had a pot of hot soup meet and vegetables, as well as few too many beers, Achilles took Medea home few blocks away from where they ate. On the way stood a large public park with grass and bamboo, tall trees shading them from the sprinkling rain falling on the park. Medea had drunk too much too fast and she was upset at Achilles for a comment he made earlier in the restaurant about Didi, It was hard for the two to be together for too long at the time as Didi was jealously protective of his sister in law, and Achilles asked if they were a time where they could be together without Didi acting up like her husband? Although he never mentioned it to Medea, Achilles suspected that the two had an affaire in the past, their wife and husband being so far away, two young attractive people in their early thirties, and sexual peak for a young woman, Achilles new a 30 years old woman could not stay without sexual activity for such extended period of time. Medea took it the wrong way, and the two argued to the point Achilles threatened to never see her again. You have to know that Medea was not a very trusting person and that she suspected Achilles to be a player. Undecided whether she could trust him or not, Medea would often come and go into the relationship while Achilles was sitting around patiently waiting for his girlfriend to come to better sentiments towards him. One day she would send one SMS after the other, MMS picture of her board self in her six square meter; next she would not give sign of life to Achilles for three to four days. Achilles spent numerous evening waiting for a call, a message that never came. They were both as in love, but one was vacillating about it; and back to that night, tired of the uncertainty, Achilles threatened to never meet again. To the ultimatum Medea looked Achilles into the eyes, deeper than they had ever done before, and a blow came out saying “no…no… not that. Make love to me!” Medea was paralyzed to the idea of loosing Achilles, despaired came upon her at the thought of never seeing him again. Achilles always strong headed refused the invitation to sublimate their love telling her he could only make love to a sober Medea. And for that matter, he would want to make love to her for the rest of his life. That said he took Medea by the hand and drove her home to rest.
The next day Achilles went back to America to share Christmas with his three beloved kids. During three weeks there he did not call Medea, and coming back to Shanghai he did not try to see her again. That was hard to his spirit as he could not stop wanting to see her. But Achilles was an unusually strong willed man and he did not take his promise to Medea lightly. On a surge of stubbornness and determination Achilles deleted her name and number from his cell so that he would not be tempted to call her. Achilles also new that if they were to stay together anylonger, they would both be to deep in love and possibly leave their respective families. Achilles was ready for the jump but could not help to think of the reaction of his children. At that point fate turned its back on Achilles and Medea. It appeared it had decided to obey Achilles words to the word although his words might not have been all that sincere. Medea was still omnipresent in Achilles thoughts, and as he could not call her for pride sake he was hoping that she would.
For two month neither of them broke in and no communication took place. Until March 3rd, Achilles could no longer take it not to hear from or see Medea, he decided to sent his friend voluptuous Anabelle to the shop fetch her business card and her mobile number. Anabelle was Achilles long time friend. When he first arrived in Shanghai, he volunteer to teach English to a few peripatetic workers wanting to learn some rudiments of the language for professional reasons. Voluptuous Anabelle or Vanabelle as he called her was from a modest Sichuan family and herself did not invent gun powder, but she was a genuinely nice and warm hearted woman always willing to help, mostly when it came to helping her “teacher”. Achilles loved for his girls to call him Teacher. Although he did not take it seriously, he understood it meant something to the girls. Vanabelle went to the shop browsing for clothing, casually talking to Medea, the two almost made friends. Medea was not the type to make friend with anyone easily, she was rather wild and suspected every one of the worst. So why did she want to make friend with Vanabelle? Could she smell Achilles’ sent there? Anyhow, on that same day Vanabelle brought back the card to Achilles. That night Achilles sat down, contemplating with the utmost concentration the card lying on his desk. The concentration might have been so strong that as he grabbed the phone decided to send a message, the phone rung. Achilles answered: “Wei” “Achilles, how are you?” that was Her. They were still paired up; they still belonged to one another. They both had the same urge at the same instant. They could both feel what the other was about to do and do the same. The connection was strong, the love was strong. She was certainly in the same state of mind as Achilles for the past two months and she too felt the urge to call him and hear his voice: “How are you? I needed to hear your voice” she said.
Achilles was disoriented and joyful for few short seconds, and quickly his cold head took over: “Medea, I was also about to call you when the phone rung. I also wanted to hear you. I want to tell you how much I think of you and that I long to see you. I am so happy you called, But…” “Why are you calling Medea, do you want to see me? What is that you want from me?”
“No Achilles, I did not call to see you, I only had to hear your voice and know you are doing well” “Medea, you cannot play with me like this. You either want to be with me or you don’t, you are either willing to commit to our love, or you are not. But if you aren’t, then I need you to no longer call me. I have strong feelings for us and you cannot play with them. You want to see me then you don’t. I can no longer stand this emotional rollercoaster. Please leave me alone and give me a chance to forget you, it is also the best for your family and mine; so please my love, never call again.” On that, he hanged up without letting her a chance to reply. His message was clear, she trusted him or she did not. She wanted him or she did not. If not she just had to let him be to find his peace. That was the first time that the world Love was pronounced by either one of them. The emanating feeling was so strong that neither one had the need to say it.
Achilles at times could be very strange, other times stupid and even self destructive. His speech and thought were often the direct opposites. Probably because he was an impulsive man and that his speech came faster than his thoughts, an outburst of feeling never matured in the mind. Was he manipulative trying to put guilt on Medea or protecting himself for a certain heart broken? Yes his message was unmistakably clear, but his action still confused and therefore contradictive… After that phone call, Achilles was even more feeling the absence. Weekly he would stroll by her shop hoping to have a glimpse at her. He would have dinner at the restaurant she knew he liked across the way from her, hoping she would walk down the stairs and come sit with him. Go to restaurant he knew she would go to supper with the same hope to run into her; But it never happened.
On April 7th, Achilles had to go to HongKong to renew his Visa. After spending the day in Kowloon Peninsula, Achilles took the train to Shenzhen to later catch the evening plane to Shanghai. Faith was in Shenzhen to make sure Achilles would not make it home that night. Achilles pull the air ticket from his travelling case, to look at the departure time. There he saw 8 PM. It was 5:10 and Achilles decided to get a foot massage to relax form the long day walking up and down Jordan Avenue. After one hour of massage, it was about 6:30, Achilles took taxi to the airport. Due to road work and renovation of all kind in the town, the 40 minutes ride took over an hour. Achilles still got there before 8 but as he gave the ticket to the airline staff, she told Achilles that this was the morning flight he took to Shenzhen, and then Achilles pulled a second ticket from his back, the flight was the 7:30 PM flight, just missed. Achilles had no other choice but to rebook and stay the night in Shenzhen as there was no more flight to Shanghai. Had he not missed the 7:30 flight, the time of arrival in Shanghai was 9:30 PM. At 9:45 that evening Medea called Achilles. Due to service problems Achilles could not receive or send messages and could not receive or give calls from Shenzhen. The next morning when he arrived in shanghai he could see the missed a call at 9:45 PM. Faith: he called Medea who did not trust he got stuck in Shenzhen. A week later, while he was eating with friends in the fast food place across the way from her shop. She SMSed him asking him to meet. Faith: there was never any reception in this restaurant. He was there from 8:30 to 10 PM She SMSed him at 9:30, delivery of the SMS came at 11PM, by the time he called her back the phone was powered off, as she always did before she went to sleep. The next day they talked and once again she did not believe him anymore than for the Shenzhen story. After that she tried calling him a couple of time and fustrated by the call Achilles recalled Vanabelle, asking her for a last service. The plan was for Vanabelle to go talk to Medea. Achilles plan was so crooked and Vanabelle so unable to carry it. Achilles new that the result of this encounter would be the end of Medea calling him. He send Vanabelle under disguised, pretending to be a famous Hong Kong Feng Shui, Ms. Li Ho. Althought the two had met prior to this day, Medea did not recognized Vanabelle under her costume. Achilles who was master of war deceptive strategy and he also knew that Medea’s primary instinct was so strong that there was no place in her mind for superstition in clairvoyance and that therefore his HongKongese Michelle Whitedove, Ms. Li Ho, would rapidly be dismissed and that Vanabelle would quickly switch to the other truth Achilles briefed her on: Ms. Li Ho addressing Medea: “Ms. Looking at your clothing, I could not help to feel this energy around you, this lack in your life. I feel there is a being you tenderly miss. But let me first introduce myself. I am Ms. Li Ho from Hong Kong and I help celebrities with their worries and alleviate obstacles and pains in their lives. As I said, being her with you I felt another presence next to yours. A young prince, someone perhaps from a minority group, at least leader of his tribe. I feel this man is the one you have been looking for all your life and he is willing to …” “Ms. Ho, is that Achilles that send you here today?” In front of so much incredulity, and so surprised by Medea’s comment, Ms. Ho decided to appeal to Medea’s womanly traditional Chinese character: “Little Flower, I do not know his name, he is a good friend of my husband, and my husband coming home is telling me of his suffering, my husband tells me he is a good man and that he needs you. Furthermore he is willing to give you what every woman in Shanghai wants: a majestic house, a car, and gifts of all kinds, if only you are willing to part from your husband and be with this man.”
Part from the husband was what ticked Medea. Remember she does not trust others and most importantly she trust the existing stability in her life. She is a woman that knows what she has and that is not adventurous enough to let go of what is safe in order to go to the unknown.
“My husband does me good and I have no reason to leave him for a lunatic, bring the message back to him! I did not know he was so Wacko, tell him not to bother to call me and I will do the same.” Achilles plan worked to perfection to the end, the end result as expected was for Medea to state that she would never call again. Being as stubborn as Achilles, that was a supplementary guaranty to the fact that she would no longer call.
A year and half went by, Achilles thought of her daily during his short daily breaks and during the evening. Continuously and never discouraged, he thought of her, knowing in his heart they were still together and that the day will come on a November 11 she would reappear in his life. Achilles was so good at concentrating and projecting his thoughts that since a very young age, whatever he projected always came to be... Coming home at night he ritually sat on his black leather coach played his two favorite songs “We are in Heaven” and “Take me away” knowing that those words he will hear them soon from Medea’s mouth:
Nothing can take you away from me… Baby you’re all that I want and you’re lying her in my arms, finding it hard to believe we’re in heaven… Love is all that I need and I find it there in your arms, it isn’t too hard to see we’re in heaven…
I needed time to make up my mind, Take me away, million miles away from here Take me away; Find a place for you and me Take me away, For ever you and me
Over Two years after they first met, on November 11th at 9PM, a knock at Achilles’ door, Behind the door was standing Medea. Achilles knew it. For a minute he stood there immovable and thoughtless. She could also feel he was standing right in front of her behind that door. As they both stood, a built up of emotional energy was forming in their heart, when the door finally opened, she jumped on him and bit his chest, as usually always on the right side, then looked at him in the eyes and told him:
“I needed time to make up my mind, Take me away; Find a place for you and me”
They moved to Guanxi, South of China to leave in a small village in the countryside where no one knows them and where they live undisturbed and in perfect harmony with each other. They are not asking anything from one another and do everything for the other. No condition! Achilles will no longer go to war; he is dedicating this life to peace and happiness in the world, helping and teaching love to Children, incidentally he continues his commercial activity while Medea takes care of their new born Baby Girl and of course her big baby Achilles.
Music for the theme: We are in Heaven Take me away My Love is your Love

Hi Voler70, thank you for sharing this lovely story with us. Since our contest closed at 6pm on Oct.5th, we're not able to count you in. Thank you anyway for your great comment. Hope to see you in our next "Win Tickets" contest.

The love story between Prince PU (it's spelled like it smells, P...U...) and Princess Flutterbye is one for generations to share, because it's a story of true love and immortality.
Princess Flutterbye met Prince PU on a mountain, Peak 95 (Jyou Wu Feng), as they were both climbing the vertical mountain with rope. When they got to the top, Prince PU wanted to announce his love to Princess Flutterbye so he reached into his pouch thinking there may be a diamond ring or gold bracelet. But instead Prince PU only discovered his balls: 3 juggling balls, and thus got down on his knees and shouted out his love for the Princess throughout the valley, as she grasped his (juggling) balls and squeezed, tears rolling down her cheeks.
And now 10 years later, Prince PU and Princess Flutterbye remain happily married, and live in Shanghai with their family offspring: the young Princess Aja (XiaXia) and Prince Rhys.
The story, when it is turned into a musical, will be set with Elton John's "Do You Feel The Love Tonight?" as the theme song, and will include a mixture of upbeat vibrations (e.g. Scatman, Beatles, Third World, Bob Marley, Jackson 5) and loving melodies (e.g. Shaina Knoll's "How Can Anyone Ever Tell You, You Are Anything Less Than Beautiful", Elton John, Paul McCartney).
This eternal love story is based on a true story!
