Description

This classical comedy presented by Shakespeare-centered drama group TNT is bound to tame Shanghaiese audiences with its humor and authenticity. Blue-blooded Petruchio uses his language to change the temper and lifestyle of his sharp-tongue and harsh wife Kate. The shrew's bad language habit is more outstanding throughout the drama in comparison to her reserved sister Bianca's. True Shrew

After a successful production of Hamlet earlier this year, TNT Theatre Britain is hitting the local stage again with a rendition of one of Shakespeare’s most famed comedies, The Taming of The Shrew. Specializing in classics of the Noble Bard, TNT’s "shrew"-d interpretation is a fast-moving, musical and humorous chronicle of how nobleman Petruchio tames his intelligent, outspoken and ill-tempered wife, Kate. Unlike other productions, the troupe has chosen not to edit or undercut the sexism and misogyny that is rife throughout the piece, instead choosing to portray a society where men and women are not equal, and where order is achieved through hierarchy.
