For an upcoming issue, we're compiling a list of Shanghai's best desserts and we want to know what YOUR favorites are.
Tell us what the most mind-blowing dessert you've had and why it's so incredible--the rich chocolate mousse, the crispy caramel coated walnuts, the irresistible strawberry coolies--and you can win dinner for two AND dessert at Otto. We'd recommend the tiramisu--it's light layers, subtle hint of coffee, chocolate shavings and touch of raspberry zing will tempt you to order another. Please include the name of the restaurant where you can get this dessert in Shanghai.
Submit your favorites by posting a comment below. You can also submit your suggestion on our blog.
Contest closes on Monday, Oct. 13.

Sounds tasty. What restaurant did you have this at?

I recommend the Dark Chocolate Premium Ice Cream - by look it's already fancy silky and dark enough, then when you have one bite in the mouth, wow... ooh... you forget where you are – you only remember the taste of super rich, smooth, and amazing chocolaty, full of strong, overwhelming cocoa indulgence through your whole body...

Very sorry Tristamarie, I don't know the address, all I remember is that the place is in Gubei, I went there once and did not take there business card. But from what I heard that is a very famous tea house in Gubei so I bet someone have heard of it too.

I have become a huge fan of every item on the menu at the recently established Boxing Cat Brewery in the Minhang district. Not only do the team there brew wonderful boutique-style beers, but their food menu is nothing short of awesome. I always make sure that I allow enough room to accommodate a serve of their silky smooth, perfectly balanced and generously portioned creme brulee. Served with a dollop of clotted cream and garnished with seasonal fruit, this dessert never fails to be gastronomically orgasmic. The master chef at this eatery has definitely done his/her research in 'creme bru-ology' and their recipe is an absolute winner! Don't leave Shanghai without dropping in and treating yourself to a ramekin filled with this truly sublime sweet!

My favourite dessert in Shanghai.. Of course it is my shanghainese bf! What can be more sweet and mind-blowing then he? And listen to me beautiful glz, that city still have some more! Just a little bite yeah? Really pretty one, which you can't get enough, can be found in Club MT (next to Bon Bon) or at Muse. Some spicy, bitter sweet boyz usually get to Babyface n G+ Well, but to say truth, that dessert is not complete. Why? Where is whipped cream & strawberry?! Haha, classic! But so yummmy~ You can get that at the SmartDirect an oline-shop. And while you are waiting for the order... did you know that one kiss can fire about 6-10 calories? Now your increadible dessert is ready) Home food is still in fashion)

Somewhat new to town, but just had the Chocolate Brownie and Vanilla Ice Cream at Whisk, my first time there. It was the best chocolate dessert I have had in Shanghai since I arrived, hands down. (So much better than the chocolate cake from Awfully Chocolate) I don't normally swoon, but I definitely did with this!

I took my Princess to Jade on 36 (Shangrila Hotel, Pudong) for her birthday celebration recently, and the desserts on both the Orange and Jade menu were fantastic. But the best had to be the chocolate cake which they presented to my Princess Aurora for her BDay celebration! The best part was that we got to take home the remainder of this (complimentary) cake!
Hint: make sure they know you are celebrating your birthday when you dine at Jade on 36!

Thanks for your recommendation fatcow, that sounds like a very interesting dessert and it's one that we weren't familiar with before! For introducing us to a new and unique dessert, we'd like to send you for a dinner for two to Otto. Congrats!
Fatcow posted his review on the contest blog here for those who want to give these Turkish crulers a try.

My favorite for most tasty desert in Shanghai was a Warm upside-down Apple pie covered with a light and discrete Caramel then topped with vanilla and walnuts/Pecans ice-cream. The pie crust was soft and lightly sweat, the apples cut in large pieces so that you could still have some crisp in the fruits when biting, it was baked to perfection with a light caramel or maybe it was just some brown sugar that that gave this extra flavor. Then the pie was served with a rich portion of ice-cream on the top and i think to finish there was some kind of whisky or bourbon base syrup poured on the top. The Pie was amazingly tasty, no overpowering sweet taste, just a perfect balance between the ingredients.
