The last Movember event will be on Sunday early afternoon, November 30th at Park Tavern, commemorated with - what else? - a pie-eating contest courtesy of the folks at the Shanghai Pie Company. 11:30am-2pm.

This international charity fundraiser recruits men to grow a mustache during November to promote awareness of prostate cancer, depression and other men's health issues. Women can get involved by recruiting men or helping with events thrown throughout the month. Maybe you could strike a happy medium and grow some full-on side burns or a goatee ... then just shave it back to its original Pirates-of-the-Caribbean glory.

you know dan, you really ought to auction off your mustache to the highest bidder, with s/he publicly shaving it all off at Movember's last party. what do you think? all for a good cause. you are, after all, a quite visible symbol of 'tache-ness...plus the PETM emailed me and said they totally support it. totally. not to mention, think of all the blog space you could cover and comments you could incur with this publicity stunt...

you fail to mention a very serious catch in this whole 'Movember' facial-hair "scheme" . . . they expect participants to shave it all off at the end of the month: not cool. I will be alerting PETM (People for the Ethical Treatment of Moustaches) about this dubious ruse. andrea, you disgust me . . .
