45 year-old Jiang Huan is a master photorealist Chinese painter. Jiang does not merely create paintings that look like they could be photos; his artworks are so well-painted that they can look: “more real than reality”. Plus Jiang Huan improves on reality by embellishing the beauty of his female subjects through painting equally attractive settings or by painting a plain background in colours that bring out the features of his models.
Jiang Huan’s work was featured and sold out at an exhibition in New York last year. With the amount of detail in each painting, Jiang takes a lot of time to meticulously and flawlessly paint each piece. Therefore this exhibition will feature only a limited number of Jiang Huan’s latest paintings.
