What's this? Heard of "one night stand" ? "Si yao jiu" translates to four-one-nine, which approximates "for one night." Presto, we have another "tradition" among trendy gay Chinese: April 19. (For those still clueless, April is the fourth month, and hooking up without all the baggage is "for one night.")

Lailai Dance Hall is using this cutesy date as an excuse to hold yet another of its incredibly high class drag shows this coming Sunday (April 19) at 9:00-10:00 pm at its plush 235 Anguo Road address (near Zhoujiazui Road, Hongkou District 虹口区安国路235号，近周家嘴路). Ticket price: 10 yuan.

So come prepared for elegant ladies strutting and singing, "To Wong Foo" and "Paris is Burning"-style.

Come a little earlier (their live band and singers begin at 7:00) and see Lailai's mostly middle-aged gay male clientele dancing romantic ballroom dance steps with each other (as in the rumba, swing, waltz, and slow dance).
