On Wednesday July 22nd, between 8.30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., locals may witness the longest total solar eclipse of the century in Shanghai region. Eclipse City, a market leader in eclipse event management, has chosen Yangshan Island, some 130 km south of central Shanghai as the best observation point in the region, for being the easternmost location in China and facing only China’s East Sea in a rather polluted-free environment.
As a warm up for the eclipse event, Eclipse City will host the 2nd International Solar Eclipse Summit (InterSoles 2) on Tuesday 21st of July at the Pudong Shangri-La Hotel in Shanghai from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. InterSoles 2 is open for the public and addresses both eclipse novices and experts of all ages, to come and enjoy speeches from international experts, exhibitions on telescopes, astronomy, photography, optics, workshops and shows all around the solar eclipse subject matter.
