The art of George Moore (93) examines the ambiguities of living and life within the formal parameters of art. His complex abstract images, in paint pastel and charcoal, shift and change, undermining their subjects and asking you to look more deeply and question what you see and what you think.
George was born in Britain in 1916 but has lived most of his life in Australia and New Zealand. In the early 1970s he taught drawing at the prestigious East Sydney Technical College, now The National Art School (NAS). He lives in Sydney where he continues to work.
