The Yangjingbang Culture Description

The "Yangjingbang" culture is born with the shanghainese melting pot. It is above all an attitude, the produce of Shanghai's internationality and wide opening to the world, an ever exciting bridge thrown between the East and the West.

This movement emerged with the constant exchanges between the chinese and foreign communities in Shanghai, each part building itself up out of each other's best, bringing out novelty and excitment in creation and art.

To be "Yangjingbang" is synonym with an open mind and the sharing resulting in cultural richness and diversity.

The artists presented in this exhibition are the results of an always inspired and more than ever inspiring China.
They represent the "Yangjingbang" state of mind, chinese and foreign painters and sculptors alongside, sharing their own and unique artistics worlds with you.

The Gallery is proud to introduce you with the new inspired works of Duran, Wu Yongping, Jin Bo, Ma Sibo, Mauro Corda, Hsuan-Yin Cheng, Su Chengbo and Francesca Mitterand.

i kinda thought art was incomprehensible to me before i visited your gallery with a much devoted-to-art friend. however. the ingenious lady of Dumonteil proved that i was wrong. we had a conversation over a work and it suddenly dauned on me art was so closely related to life, of which the magic couched everywhere, pretty shre i'll visit your place again and hope to talk to the lady again.

City Weekend Says

Yangjingbang refers to the cultural melting pot found in cities such as Shanghai, which are home to people from around the world. The term reflects the tension, harmony and overlap between the East and the West, and the creativity and new ideas inherent when cultures collide. The artists in this show depict the idea of yangjingbang through painting and sculpture.
