Icelandic prodigy Olafur Arnalds kicked off his musical career as the drummer for a metal band. However, his recent compositions have featured more delicate orchestral harmonies which call to mind the work of Bach and Schubert. Arnalds has blended chamber music and piano with subtle electronics to create a wholly unique sound, effectively fusing the modern ambience of independent and alternative genres to a classical foundation.
Arnalds’ first ever China tour was a wild success, demonstrating his widespread appeal with sold-out shows in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Beijing. Olafur will be kicking off a second tour in the People's Republic with a performance at the famed He Luting Concert Hall!
