  •   eric_sh reviewed Nepali Kitchen in Dining > Nepalese

Overpriced for poor food quality....too many laowais, like me:), have visited this place.....Staff acts charming, which does not level the bland, uninterested tastes that come from the kitchen. Taking your shoes off is nice for a newbie...which might take the attention away from the food... Please take care of cooking/ingredients, this is a mess....

  •   kiibbeerrllyy commented on Awfully Chocolate > Xiangyang Nan Lu in Dining > Dessert

Chocolates that they make a good but not that kind of good that you would go ga-ga all over.

  •   kiibbeerrllyy commented on Shoka in Dining > Japanese

Haha, Shoka is just right outside my apartment. The atmosphere and setting is pretty good. Just checking out the reviews, probably will try the place soon.

  •   kiibbeerrllyy commented on Xindalu China Kitchen in Dining > Shanghai

If you are planning to bring out your american collegues who are new to chinese food. This would be a good place to start.

  •   vevina reviewed YANA Adventures in Travel

I really like YANA. It provides special tours in the city and across China, which is more close to the culture, nature and real life of Chinese people. Sometimes we do feel boring about city life, and want something really interesting. YANA also organize that kind of events, like Treasure Hunt, BBQ, walking tour across the city, explore places you ...

  •   epeter03 reviewed Kakadu in Dining > Australian

What happened to Kakadu? My guess would be that their chef left.... Menu hasn't seemed to be updated since this place opened. Quality & care of food has gone down hill as well; how sad. Waitstaff are still nice and friendly and with the enjoy card 50% off this place earned 2 stars.

  •   xmuahz reviewed Paulaner Brauhaus > Binjiang Da Dao in Dining > German

Although I've lived in Germany when I was a kid, I never knew what the hype was about all this German food. Then I came to Paulaner.. and it was AMAZING. Okay, the staff only gave us 3 pieces of bread (cuz we only had 3 people), which I thought was a bit hard-headed, but the main courses were DELICIOUS. ...

  •   zachary_franklin reviewed Hong Dong Korean Restaurant in Dining > Korean

This is one of best reasons to come to Duolun Street ... in addition to the history behind the area. Fantastic Korean barbecue, great environment.

  •   share reviewed TIMA Harbour > Zhenning Lu in Dining > Italian

Great food at reasonable price and a nice atmosphere. My friends both liked the Fried Calamari appetizer better than I did. I found it a little over breaded but it's tender and not chewy after all. Of course, we couldn't resist the dark chocolate cake.

  •   gijspadmos reviewed Joy Bar & Restaurant in Dining > American

Worst kroketten I had in my life. And the fries weren't good at all. I was really looking forward to some dutch snacks, but this place really dissapointed me.

  •   mmiles reviewed Urban Soup Kitchen in Dining > Delivery

The place is very small (only 4-6 small tables), and get filled up quickly during lunch rush. So I usually called for delivery. Very good food (love their mulligatawny soup and chicken breast sandwich), and with their 'half-price soup combo', I bow down to USK. Thank you guys and please keep up the good work!! Good luck!

  •   narsfweasels reviewed APSARA Spa > Shanxi Bei Lu in Health & Beauty > Blind Massage/Spas

You're lucky bisw! At least the first time you went the service was good! The first and only time we went was terrible! A lot of "Expat" places like this can do as they please as they have a captive audience of non-chinese speaking foreigners who feel they have no other choice. "nwffc"

  •   bkyahoo commented on Browhaus in Health & Beauty > Beauty

Finally, i could thread my eyebrows in Shanghai ...Yesterday was my first visit to Brawhaus! It was just perfect. The therapist - Coco , did a great job on threading my eyebrows. I highly recommend you to go if you need to get your brows in shape.

  •   bisw reviewed Cantina Agave in Dining > Mexican & Tex-Mex

Awful "mexican' food. Seriously I've never seen it so badly done before. The 'fish' tacos were not right..they were like Mrs. Paul's fried fish sticks! what? Also, the rice pudding had more lemon in it than any other flavor. The nachos were smothered in beans. Personally I'd say only those who have no idea what Mexican food or even tex-mex ...

  •   bisw reviewed Mr Willis in Dining > Fusion

Been there 3x now.. the first time it was really good..but the experience was never completely regained. I think for the type of food it is, it's overpriced.

  •   bisw reviewed APSARA Spa > Shanxi Bei Lu in Health & Beauty > Blind Massage/Spas

This place is good the first time you go..but don't fall into the hype and buy a membership..then the service and quality will decrease dramatically. IF you do like shoddy service and truck driving-burping massage girls..then this will be the place for you!

  •   bisw reviewed Baker & Spice in Dining > Cafes

Best carrot cake ever!! Even better cupcakes!! YUM!

  •   bisw reviewed Boxing Cat Brewery > Fuxing Lu in Dining > American

Fried chicken is pretty tasty. Deserts are good too. The hamburger is not good at all...filled with tendons and using cheap meat (since it's filled with tendons). Things on the menu are hits or misses..just be careful how you choose. Loud atmosphere too.

  •   bisw reviewed El Mexicano in Dining > Mexican & Tex-Mex

Great mexican food and great prices. They make their own corn tortillas and have horchata! They deliver too (very quickly in xuhui too).

  •   bisw reviewed Hip Hair Culture in Health & Beauty > Beauty

The head massage is the best thing about this salon (when you get it)..For Asian hair they're probably great..but if you don't have Asian hair, don't bother unless you want your hair to be damaged (this applies to the head stylists there too).

  •   foodfinder reviewed TIMA Harbour > Zhenning Lu in Dining > Italian

I recently had the chicken porccini risotto and my partner a salmon pasta, the food was light and flavorful. Some decent selections of wines but mostly by the bottle. The service was very attentive, though. We enjoy the relaxing dinning.

  •   narsfweasels commented on ChineseVie School in Services > Language Schools

Yeah! Jia Lao Shi was there, I studied fleecing with her!

I definitely studied here too and I have to say that Jia Lao Shi was an awesome teacher! The only problem I had was that Jia Laoshi was a collection of inert gases composed mainly of Argon, Neon and Xenon. But thankfully she was able to communicate very well through the medium of telepathy and fake reviews on Cityweekend, so ...

  •   miss_ng_in_action reviewed N'more Asian Gourmet in Dining > Thai

After my first meal, I talked about it so much that I ended up tempting friends to go there with me three days later! Still good the second time and we ordered a lot more. The spicy ribs appetizer is so flavorful that I sucked the bones clean and found myself dipping scraps of lettuce into the left over sauce. ...

Been a few times and the vibe is good with a mixture of guys and ladies both western and local and seem to be a younger crowd. The management all appear to be quite young. It is a good place for a drink and a meal but even a better place to watch sport. This place is seriously big and ...

Hao Laoshi is one of the best one-on-one advanced Chinese language instructors that I have encountered during my 2 years of continuous studying China. She has a strong grasp of how foreign students learn Chinese, finding ...

  •   pussnboots commented on Brasa Chicken in Dining > Delivery

While I am still disappointed with how long my meal took, it just arrived and it was delicious. A very good wrap, chicken noodle soup had great flavor, and they even threw in a delicious flan for the long wait (good policy). If Brasa can get their delivery mechanism under control, this place will be a hit.

  •   prclance commented on ChineseVie School in Services > Language Schools

Thank you for the very pleasant and intense introduction to Mandarin. You made the class very pleasant and interesting, and made us want to do the homework!

  •   pussnboots reviewed Brasa Chicken in Dining > Delivery

I don't understand how a restaurant who's philosophy pivots on good service and delivery is so poor at delivering food on time. I ordered chicken 1 hour 40 minutes ago and it has yet to arrive. It's not as if the menu is all that complicated. Put chicken in oven. Cook chicken. Deliver chicken on time. Pull it together, Brasa.

  •   zachary_franklin reviewed Otto Restaurant & Wine Bar in Dining > Italian

An early evening meal at Otto super enjoyable. It's not too crowded, and if you can nab a street-side seat, the view goes perfect with the crème brulée trio.

  •   nruth reviewed Mr and Mrs Bund in Dining > French

This place charges 300RMB cake-cutting fee if you bring your own cake. So if you are celebrating a birthday or anniversary there, either cut your cake on the streets after your meal, or buy the cake from the restaurant (not sure how much they charge though)... Everything was good until I found out about the exorbitant cake-cutting fees... I know ...
