意工场 Factory is made up of six open, inter-connected components - creative workshops, gallery / exhibition, pop-up retail, members bar / lounge and restaurant, and of course a website linking and engaging the world.

At 意工场 Factory we are constantly growing and evolving, like the creative process - ever changing. We are concerned with the process of creativity, and to that end everything we make and do is a ‘work in progress’, a ‘rough mix’, a ‘new edit’. In this way we hope to keep learning and discovering, while keeping our food, content, and thinking fresh and new.

意工场 FACTORY is situated in our own stand-alone space within the high-profile 1933 project, Hongkou, Shanghai, People’s Republic of China (www.1933-shanghai.com). 1933 is approximately 5 minutes by car from the Bund and international hotels like Hyatt on the Bund.

1933 is an art-deco Shanghai landmark - an architectural wonder and a re-development envisioned as a destination, where people can work, shop, eat and visit to be enriched, emboldened, and walk away inspired and aware of the great potential of creativity and imagination.
