It's a New Orleans affair at this restaurant, serving up jambalaya, seafood gumbo, shrimp etouffee, po-boys and more. Try some coffee and chicory accompanied by a slice of pecan pie or a nice chocolate chunk cookie and take in the flavors of the South.

Beignets and coffee are good, as is the food, but I have mixed feelings about going there: they are not affiliated with the New Orleans original and just took the name -- not exactly model citizens. Oh well, I guess sometimes beignets and coffee win out over my principles...

The owner couldn't be friendlier but the sausage could definitely be spicier.

I don't really know what a po-boy is (even after the very happy owner tried to explain it to me), but it was pretty good. The fries are super crisp and delicious. I don't know what kind of oil they fry them in, but they are very flavorful but not super salty. Very nice.
The club sandwich is pretty standard. Tastes like a club you'd get at any diner in the States.
I have a friend who's obsessed with the spinach dip. I thought it was "ehhh". Not anything to write home about, but not inedible. A little too greasy for my taste.
A nice place to go when you're not counting pennies and missing American style food.

just ok very limited lunch menu(perhaps it becomes more expansive during dinner?) there is little else that speaks to creole cooking on the menu besides the shrimp and oyster po'boy and gumbo. no muffalata or peel n' eat crawfish, and most dishes lacked spice. the service was very poor. might try again as when i went they just opened.
