This brewery offers a relaxed and reasonably priced escape from the ritzier stops along Shanghai's gilded Bund strip. Pouring drafts of decent micro-brews for thirsty brew-lovers, and serving satisfying pub snacks and fare as well as a range of other beverages, this friendly pub has earned its solid reputation.

Micro-breweries are the best invention ever and the draught at the Bund Brewery is no exception—a delicious light brew with a sweet aftertaste, 300ml for ¥33. Non-beer drinkers can choose from a massive range of unbrewed beverages and food as well–not just bar food, but real meals like mac and steak (¥115), desserts and snacks. The Bund Brewery is your local pub minus the sticky floors and slimy businessmen. The bar is dimly lit with large wooden tables perfect for big group dinners. It's warm and wooden–possibly a fire hazard but overall a great atmosphere. Don't let the 'Bund' in the name put you off. The bar is relaxed and reasonably priced. With a mix of locals and foreigners and extremely friendly staff, the Brewery is soon to become our favorite afterwork hangout. - Sarah culley

Ownership change here? Was here six months ago and the food was decent. This evening - what a train wreck. We had the burgers, chicken wings and samosas and they were all bad in their own special way. Beer is still pretty good.

I really enjoyed their house beer and industrial decor, and the food was way more delicate than what I expect from a brewery. It's the Bund, after all ! And they charge accordingly (about RMB 200 per person). Slow service, very average live band and very smoky air spoil the experience a bit, though.

Sounds like recently they have RMB 99 promotion for unlimited beers. Alcoholic Anonymous? Forget abt. that!

I ate here today and have got to say that I was a little underwhelmed. I ordered the pork ribs with curly fries and slaw. The slaw was no more than a tablespoon full (I kid you not!), the pork was far too salty and the fries were luke warm. I must say though, that the beer was good!

I went back to the Bund Brewery recently and was rather disappointed with the meal. Granted it was 2pm in the afternoon, but shouldn't that mean the kitchen is poised to especially prepare your meal rather than treat it as a nuisance? I ordered the big beef burger and requested medium rare, whereupon the waiter said, "I recommend you have it well done." I suppose there is first time for everything.

I should have heeded his advice, the burger was chewy, overdone and just plain boring - save for the cheese and bacon. Mmmmm, bacon. Sadly even the signature curly fries failed. They were so over-fried, they tasted like potato chips. Ultimately, even the 25 RMB can of Diet Coke disappointed. As it seemed way too expensive after "enjoying" the Big Beef Burger. I've had good meals at The Bund Brewery before, and hope to continue, but that afternoon it was just bad. Long live beer.

As a recent mover to Shanghai, I have found going out on the Bund a rather expensive affair. I stumbled upon the Bund Brewery a few weeks back and was happy to see that both the food and drinks were very well priced. The house brew is great and the appertizers suit the bill prefectly when washed down by a nice lager! keep up the good work and I will definitely be using this place as my starting point for future nights out in the area!

This place has a great atmosphere. Reminds me of a classier version of the laid-back pubs we used to frequent back in university. I've tried several of the micro-brew varieties and found them quite refreshing. The food is impressive, though we'd expect nothing less from the guys that brought us aFP. Fresh ingredients, pub-style appies that taste like back home (watch out for the stuff jalapenos - a little spicy if you're not prepared for it!) and a range of dinner choices that you wouldn't expect to find at a brewery. If you're a real lover of the brew, check out the beer-infused cheesecake ... awesome.

I hope this place survives the deadly Bund Triangle curse. It seems like anything off the Bund is doomed to struggle. It certainly has all the ingredients to make it: good food (I mean, I loved my cheese bacon burger), good atmosphere, helpful attentive wait staff and micro beer on tap. I only had the lager and while I wasn't blow away as if it were "the best beer in the world", it wasn't a Tsingtao, REEB or Tiger. I work nearby. I don't go to clubbing on the Bund and dig the bar, I Heart Shanghai, so when it comes to dinner and beer, the Bund Brewery gets my vote for best new restaurant in the evil Bund triangle.
