i totally love this place! the lights and comfortable cushion chairs just make me stay there even longer! They have good lunch set with a reasonable price (one meal+tea, coffee, or juice is about 68rmb, if i remember correctly), they also got some delicious cakes as well =D good place to stop by when you are in Xintiandi, especially this time (winter) when its little cold to sit outside to have a cup of coffee or tea !

Afternoon Tea provides a nice quiet place to enjoy a conversation with friends over a guilt-free meal. The service is good without being intrusive.

We thought Afternoon Tea was a Japanese teahouse but it turned out to be a laid-back locale serving Japanese-inspired Western fare. We started with the broccoli soup (¥20) followed by a French ham Caesar salad sandwich (¥50)–actually a salad topped with ham, boiled eggs, dressing and croutons and not, in fact, a sandwich. Overcooked noodles provided the base for our tomato spaghetti with chicken and our black sesame pasta with eryngii mushrooms and pork (both ¥55), but we found the sesame pasta both subtle and flavorful. Peach jasmine tea (¥30) was well-infused with a refreshing twist of peach and a creamy chai (¥30) was well-balanced with the proper dose of milk and spices. To finish, the raspberry chocolate parfait (¥38) proved delightful. Afternoon Tea satisfies the palate in simple, honest and tasty ways. –Kim-Tien Huynh
