SMS Guanxi for: From 6-11pm, order any of the three course dinner sets at ARCH Bar & Café on Changshu Lu and get a free glass of wine. Offering Italian-influenced fare including a selection of finger-foods, pastas and Mediterranean salads in a sleek three-storey space, this spot has become a lunchtime staple. Be sure to bag a window seat for people-watching over the street below while munching on a hearty brunch and made-to-order juices.

Restaurant/ Cafe meets cocktail bar meets film lounge. Minimalist interior might recall a modern designer bar, but imported magazine's artfully placed bring it back to a chic coffee shop. ARCH is big in atmosphere. It’s your place to doodle or to chill out with friends. Changing lunch specials, chef specials, exclusive cocktail list, wine and beer promotions delightfully spice up the usual range of ingredients. Free Movies every THURSDAYS starts at 8:00PM

ive been in shanghai for quite a while and ive seen how arch maintained its good sevice and quality food at reasonable price. chicken feta pasta and the tenderloin steak is the usual favorite. save some room for dessert :) nice, hip, and fun place to chill out on weeknights.

Arch is obviously one of the overrated restaurants in town. My wife and I had our lunch in Arch (Wukang Lu) yesterday and was rather dissapointed. The seafood tomato soup has little if any seafod flavour, the spaghetti was overcooked, and the seafood lasagna was tasteless. Worst still, all food were badly presented (kind of misplaced on the plate), and they even serve the main course to us when we were half way through with our entree (the restaurant was half empty so I assumed they were not trying to rush us). With that kind of food quality, service and price level, it is not worth it.

Located in the heart of the French concession, this place is worth a visit. Appetizers are yummy, nice to be paired with your wine or cocktails. I like the pan fried salmon consistenly good since they put it in the menu. Friday nights is happening with gudluking party peeps.

A sad shadow of its former self, Arch must be congratulated for perhaps being one of the most complacent and mediocre restaurants in Shanghai. I rarely choose to order beyond a burger because i know for sure they can deliver that well. However when my appetite requires a more wholesome meal or other food, i rarely come here and when i do, i am always disappointed, One of my pet hates about this restaurant (and A future Perfect too) is the ridiculous, verbose menus filled with descriptions and flavours and tastes and sauces that are inevitably never delivered as the menu describes. I am not sure if it is because the kitchen cannot understand all the menu descriptions, or if there are so many ingredients to each dish that they couldn't get it all from the markets or if there is no connection between the floor and the kitchen. For whatever reason, this restaurant really needs to take a good look at itself and give itself a fresh menu and more enthusiasm, especially in the face of a much more competitive restaurant scene in Shanghai. For such a stayer of the SH scene, there is really no excuse for powdered mash, creme brulee that is pre-toasted (and tasted like off creme cheese), and other general laziness and ineptitude with the food preparation. Come on Arch - u deserve to be so much better - great location, big windows, good coffee and a great place to sit online. Do us all a favour and pull up your socks. For starters, you could print new menus instead of just sticking a new page over old fodder...... It seems the only thing that hasn't gone off here is the wireless!

You knwo what happen at Arch? I was walking pass Arch on Wukang Lu yesterday , saw the owner of the vegetable shop that I am a regular customer (her shop is on Wulumuqi Lu - - very wel-known among foreigners as she has all kinds of vegetable you ever want) . She and her staff sitting blocking Arch's front door with the card board saying this restaurant owe her 2X,XXX RMB for almost a year and refuse to pay back!! She has no idea what to do (not sure police can do anything about it) . So she decided to ask for the justice at the door telling all customers of this cafe not to support the cheat!! Hahah - - very interesting way and I and all of my friends will support her banning this restaurant til they pay her back and eat more her vegetable !!

This is my second home on the weekends. I love to come here for a late breakfast to eat a delicious, filling meal and sip coffee or fresh squeezed OJ. Although there is usually a wait, once you are seated you can relax and enjoy yourself. I usually order one of the country breakfast plates. I never leave unsatisfied and the staff is friendly and remembers us. The prices are great and always keeps us coming back.

a sad story about the vegetable supplier though but food is still good, wherever the food came from, the CHEF still make a good food... ARCH is my second kitchen, i have a very busy schedule and don't have time to cook, since i live near wukang road, i often come to ARCH wukang to dine in, i almost try every food they have in their menu and still i love 'em.. aside from a very affordable price, people are friendly and nice..

Based on one visit for a recent Sunday brunch, I have to say I'm very surprised to read most of these positive reviews.
What we saw and experienced: A rundown place (the completely used up, greasy and not very comfortable purple velvet benches anyone?), with slightly robotic staff, very poor food and coffee. And yes, the menu is a tad too witty and becomes straight up pretentious and annoying when you're served scrambled eggs which are barely done well enough, on a piece of partly burned (!) plain white toast and then get charged 15 kuai for some extra toast (my gf didn't get any with the eggs she ordered). The cappucino was in fact a huge cafe-au-lait and the espresso was mediocre at best, served in a way too big tea cup.
Oh, and a "modern design bar"? Perhaps in 1980's Miami, yes..

I don't understand why people say good things about ARCH cafe. Food is really under standard for what people brags here. We went there today for lunch having read good ratings for this cafe and we feel very very dissapointed. We ordered Nicoise Salad and Perch Fish with bernaise sauce... and when it arrived the Salad was really just a stack of lettuce and bit of tuna dressed in balsamic vinegar.. nothing special. When we tried the fish.. it was actually even worse.. can' believe that there were so many scales on the fish and was very bland. To make matter worse, the service was not good either, staff don't really care and arrogant. Well.. I definetely will not come back again.

Great comfortable place for drinks with friends I've had several unrelated friends recommend this wonderful little Cafe/trendy restaurant. It is an ideal place to gather a group of friends for a relaxing casual, yet trendy, drinks. The restaurant caters well to foreigners.
