This cafe soothes the soul with celery-mint-green walls, jazz on the stereo and vintage furniture from the owner’s personal collection placed casually about. The menu includes Shanghai homestyle dishes and a smattering of Western choices. The true delights are inexpensive drinks like fresh-squeezed lemonade and an addictive iced mint latte.

Cute, quaint and cozy. Love the coffee drinks, love the kitschy decor, love the birdie chirping away in the corner.

I don't need to go there again....
Warning: Don't go dining in the same time when the owner is having dinner....as they are more busy serving themself than taking care of the customers... While dogs running around in the restaurant...

Surprisingly cozy despite the seemingly cluttered little space. Reasonably-priced meals in a cafe with character. Perfect for lazy afternoons followed by a walk in the French Concession.

We kept hearing rumors that the mint latte at this quaint little cafe was worth a try and we have to say, it's true. You can have it hot or iced, but either way, it's a nice refresher. There are some other interesting items on the menu like blueberry teas and lattes (not the alcoholic kind) as well as a few other ones that we're definitely going to have to go back and try.
Service was a bit slow considering we were the only ones there, but we weren't in a rush. Furniture is antique ... the stools perhaps a bit awkward to sit on, but the overall effect is like sitting in your great grandmother's somehow stylish parlor. Not sure about the food as we didn't give it a try. We'd heard it was homestyle Chinese but the limited food menu seemed to suggest a switch to the Western side. The music was an interesting selection of international tunes including some German ditties that amused my friend who can still pick up bits and pieces of German after a few years spent living there as a child. Overall, not a bad place to spend a leisurely afternoon.

To reveal this little gem feels like an act of generosity. This small high-ceilinged room soothes the over-stimulated urban soul with live herb plants, green walls and vintage Art Deco furniture from owner Rachel Huo's collection. It's like a cozy stylish home. The menu features homestyle dishes which are satisfying but o r d i n a r y, s u c h as beef in black pepper sauce or sauteed duck in spicy sauce (most plates are ¥20-¥40). There are also a few sandwiches and desserts, but the true delights are the creative and inexpensive drinks. The fresh lemonade (squeezed on-the-spot using a large, elegant chrome citrus press) has a palmful of smashed mint leaves. The chocolate coffee smoothie (¥33) is deeply ear thy and not overly sweet. The i ce d m int l a t te (¥25) is, in a word, addictive. –Crystyl Mo
