Pudong and Puxi locations offer pickings of delicacies ranging from stewed frog, smoked duck breast to desserts of green tea tiramisu and even chocolate fondue in this family-friendly establishment. Don't forget to try their fruit drinks, Hong Kong sweets and desserts.

this restaurant is fantastic. the saturday night line was an hour long at Raffles, but it was worth it. The grilled half chicken...yum...the waffles with mango slices and custard...awesome...just regret they were sold out of the cheese-topped baked mushrooms.

This place is packed during lunch time and it is really hard to get a table. The food is interesting but not as good as the traditional Hong Kong tea-cafe. The hand-shredded chicken is really good.

Always packed, this restaurant is irrefutably popular. We won't say it's 100 percent authentic Canton food either, rather Hong Kong-style teahouse eats with a smattering of Western and Asian dishes. But, I find this restaurant is always tasty and reliable. Those with a sweet tooth should definitely try the toast with condensed milk--simple and delicious. I'm a big fan of the nai cha ... but then I just love any nai cha that's not your powdered watered down Shanghai kind. I think if you're looking for a good meal, this one won't let you down (though you may have to wait in line for it).

went there quite some times, love it, especially the red sofa seat, good for a bunch of friends (no more than 6) eating and chatting

Charmed
Hong Kong style cafés (_cha canting_) are all the rage in Shanghai lately, and none is better or more popular than the Charme chain. On any given night of the week, lines of locals dozens deep spill outside any of their half dozen locations around town. The specialty of the house is quality meat roasted in lip-smacking sauce (YY35). Choose from goose, pork shoulder or lean beef, or be ambitious and mix 'n match. As a nod to its colonial age background, Charme also whips up respectable versions of classic European cuisine. The baked cod (YY88) and lemon salmon filet (YY98) go great with a thick milk tea (YY15). Desserts are a must at any respectable Hong Kong style café. Charme serves up excellent renditions of classic mango-based treats, but we love the baked honey bread loaf topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream (YY28)--it's one of the best and most unique desserts you'll find in town. Reserve a couple days in advance as tables are very hard to get. --Lee Mack
