An affordable sandwich place that offers filling portions and delivery--what more can couch slouches ask for? Sarnies offers a ranch of sandwiches, salads and fresh fruit smoothies, all for under RMB25. We recommend the Hilton Clash, a sandwich made with chicken breast, Canadian bacon, lettuce, tomato and a fried egg to top it all.
Just went to the BB on Nanyang road last weekend, when it was scorching. After downing a few pints, I was feeling a bit peckish and wanted something to wash away the beer taste in the mouth. Spotted out "Sarnies" just across the road, and thought to myself, what a name! Immediately comes to mind that it's selling sandwiches. Sarnies and beer goes together well, so I hopped across the road, and had a look at the menu, they have pretty comprehensive choice of sarnies available, from good ol' BLT to Tuna sandwiches. Furthermore, it's done whilst you wait! So much better than those you get at City Shop or Ely Fresh, and at a fraction of the price! Also on the menu, are freshly squeezed juices and shakes or Smoothies as they call it. They do deliveries also, so if I'm too lazy to get off my a*se and grab a sarnie, then I can just call them! Apparently no delivery fee is charged!
New Eats | A Healthy Helping
Specifically tailored to the "order in" crowd, Sarnies offers a great range of healthy sandwiches, salads, freshly squeezed juices and shakes at very affordable prices. This sandwich shop has a simple but tasteful setup: a few tables face out on a tranquil street, while a curtain of seashells separates the order counter from the kitchen. We ordered the Big Rig Sandwich (¥18). It was a perfectly proportioned sandwich with a decent helping of turkey and ham, a swipe of mustard and mayonnaise, crisp lettuce, juicy tomatoes and Swiss cheese.
Your sandwich will come on soft, crustless white bread. But for only ¥3, you can switch to a croissant or baguette. The delicious Hilton Clash (¥15) sandwich featured proper Canadian bacon, moist chicken breast, a fried egg, lettuce and tomato. Although it was missing sauerkraut and cucumber, we didn’t mind. Be sure to order a refreshing fruit shake along with the sandwich. Our Very Berry (¥18) and Mango Madness (¥15) were packed with fresh fruit flavor. On a hot, humid summer day, it was the perfect, guiltless thirst quencher. We'll be putting Sarnies' phone number on speed dial because they make eating healthy easy on the budget.
