The modest storefront of this unassuming ice cream stand could lead one to pass it by, but if you do you'll be missing out. This is Bing, specializing in fresh and natural sorbet made on-the-spot. First, pick your combination of two flavors—from standard in-season fruits to more risque flavors like red pepper, basil and champagne. Next these are blended with a few squirts of water, syrup, milk and yogurt if you prefer a creamier texture, then poured onto a large silver pan chilled by a high-power freezer (no liquid nitrogen or Freon involved here). Mixed with two metal spatulas until frozen into a perfect chunk of delicious sorbet (YY25), your treat is then handed to you in a small dish--apparently they'll also have biodegradable ice cream dishes soon. Our mango-lemon and mint-lime combinations were light, delicious, refreshing and fun, encouraging us to test out a few more adventurous flavor combinations next time round. -Trista Baldwin
