A Member's club and restaurant offering an extensive menu, featuring Eastern European cuisine. The decor exceeds expectations with its grand-Chateau theme. Great for private functions and big groups, the club offers its members different options within their private rooms and offices.

A breath of fresh air Tucked away on the side of the elevated highway, SlavHome provides for a perfect retreat from the noisy and busy-honky streets of this town. The building, originally a factory, has now been completely 599号 Tel: 6271-9881 The Verdrefurbished by a Shanghai-born designer with furniture imported from all regions of the world. The attention to detail in this fort/ chateau- look ing space i s incredible; adorned in wooddetailed vault ceilings and crystal skylights. The atmosphere is warm and cozy. We were welcomed into a lounge area known as the reading room, hosting a collection of books donated by the Russian, Czech, Slovakian, Ukranian, and Croatian consulates, amongst others. The extensive menu includes an array of food from Italy and Greece, to Turkey itself. A pricey venue, however worth it, with appetizers ranging from ¥80-¥120, and entrees from ¥100-¥250+. For our meal, we opted for the season's special, which includes any appetizer, entrée and dessert for ¥150. We started off with the homemade goose liver, which puts most versions of the dish we've had in this city to shame ( read: i t doesn' t come from a can.) In between courses, we were pleasantly surprised by a side salad consisting of an entire pickled red pepper, seasoned with garlic and herbs. The simplicity, freshness and delicacy of the ingredients made this small dish agree with our palates. For the main course, we ordered the fillet medallions: topped with roasted mushroom and chicken liver, and covered in a special sauce (which you'll have to ask the chef for) made out of cream, cheese, chilli and broccoli. It was simply delightful. Finally: dessert. A classic tiramisu -which we usually would steer clear fromwas a delicious finale for our (far too decadent, and large) meal. Baked daily and made with fine brandy, it is only logical it came accompanied with real Turkish black coffee; a perfect digestive to this lovely dinner. The only warnings we'd like to emit are about the large portions and the highly persuading staff, who kept us drinking gin-andtonics in the reading room until 1 am. This dinner special will be running for the next couple of months and the restaurant also offers free (European) breakfast for members and their guests.
