Bébémamie Concept is the new French style crêperie restaurant from the now famous dairy producer Bébémamie Yogurt Company. Developed with the same concept of healthy living, home made products, and high quality ingredients carefully selected, they aim to provide you with tasty food and specialties from France. At Bébémamie Concept, food is embraced as an form of art.

The cozy family-run bistro-style restaurant offers a selected menu of mostly savoury crêpes and galettes - a style of crêpe from Brittany made from buckwheat flour, with a darker look and almost a sourdough taste - in addition to an impressive dessert menu.

Feeling Crepe-d

Tucked away on a hushed side street of Hongqiao is a simple, modest restaurant offering a variety of wheat pancakes (YY35-52), chocolate and fruit crepes (YY32-65) and garden salads (YY35-52). The crisp and light greens, tomatoes, olives and goat cheese of the fresh garden salad (YY52) were ideal for inspiring cool hopes for a summery afternoon. Next we opted for a chocolate, banana and rum, flambéed crepe (YY65) and an apple cinnamon crepe (YY42). Paired with a bowl of fine vanilla ice cream, the apple and cinnamon elicited a fanfare of applause from our taste buds amid its otherwise average company. Derived from Bebemamie's all-natural yogurt delivery service, the restaurant doesn't carry over much of its namesake apart from its emphasis on fresh and natural products—handmade jams and yogurt, organic vegetables and so on. Still, we found enjoying a few crepes in a homey setting to be cozy, calming and, indeed, fresh. -Mindy Hsieh
