Situated amidst the developing Red Town complex, this restaurant's environment is pleasant and boasts a music soundtrack that does a good job of setting the mood. The selection of savory crepes is fair though ingredients are average while a fine drink selection may persuade you to extend your stay.

Food is top level, very nicely prepared and displayed. Crepes, both entree and dessert, are specialties and are excellent. Nicely decorated on two floors, full bar, good wine selection. First rate smoothies with perfect sorbet mixed in. Good service. Price value is outstanding. This is well worth finding. Another route is by taxi, a flagdrop fare from XuJiaHui #1 station. The outdoor art in the surrounding open space is an added treat.

Amongst the still developing Redtown complex, BECA makes an admirable stab at ambience. The décor is airy and attractive and music well-pitched to drown out the cacophony of drilling and hammering that dominates the site. To their credit, my Bolognese (¥42) came delicately pursed with a perfectly steamed side of vegetables. The meat was finely ground and the sauce, fruity. La Napolean (¥45) offers you the chance to choose from a range of fillings, though my friend's selection was poorly dressed and hindered by the tinned ham. For dessert, the Belle Helene (¥40) was refreshing and markedly better than my Crêpe Suzette (¥25) which I eventually found under a glut of sauce most akin to a Bacardi Breezer. Happy Hour (weekdays 4-9pm) offers some interesting choices which may give you a reason to extend your stay, but unfortunately doesn't include the terrific house white (¥35). –John Lynch
