Went back couple of days ago wt friends and I enjoyed the Smoked Salmon very much. The sliced potatoes at the bottom of the salmon really hit the spot for me! I ordered the lamb shank and it wasn't really great. I thought it was too tough and not soft enough to be braised.

Little expensive but really good food and a great wine selection. Service is also fantastic -- the manager even stopped by to make sure everything was going well.

The atmosphere is really cosy and comfortable. It took the service staff 10mins to bring us our water but the order was well taken.
We had the fish soup, boneless duck, steak&kidney pie, suckling pig and finished off with date pudding. The boneless duck was done like crabcakes and it was quite good, though the slices of parma ham on top was super salty. The steak&kidney pie was huge but the beef lacked enough kidney flavor. The suckling pig was thick and yummy with a thin skin which wasn't too crispy. The sauce at the bottom was not flavorful enough. The date pudding was amazing and surprisingly good! Not too sweet and has great texture.
The prices are not cheap. Probably at a higher range in Grand Gateway. Dinner for 2 comes up to about 500+RMB, with 2 glasses of wine.
Generally good service, with competent english speaking staff. The manager asked if we enjoyed the food on our way out. I think that is a good sign of wanting to please customers. We shall see if they listened...
I like it, except for a few minor adjustments. Definitely a good dinner proposition.
